      • Stephanie L December 3, 2017 at 5:36 pm

        • Victoria December 6, 2017 at 12:11 pm

          Hi Stephanie,

I don’t have eye bags myself so I’ve never tried any products specifically targetted towards them. I do have dark circles from lack of sleep and I’ve always found that the Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream works wonders for me! Cleanser wise, some of my favourites are The Body Shop Tea Tree Cleanser (I can’t even count how many bottles that I’ve gone through and it’s insanely affordable), as well as the Kiehl’s Calendular Cleansing Gel! It smells heavenly and doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry after I use it!

    • Victoria December 3, 2017 at 4:22 am

      Hi Linda,

Fur babies are the best! Kobe is going to be closely snuggled by me as well all throughout the holidays! Kobe is also a pomeranian (not a teacup though, just a toy size I believe) who is excited to be going back home to spend time with the other family dogs.

  • Kelila Wong December 3, 2017 at 5:01 am

Day 3: My favourite holiday tradition is putting up and decortating the Christmas tree with my sister! I also LOVEEE to sit down with my entire family to enjoy a Christmas dinner together. ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŒŸ

      Hey Kelila,

I love decorating my Christmas tree! I used to do it all the time with my family when I lived at home in Ottawa. Since moving to Toronto, it’s one of the holiday traditions that I miss the most!

  • Aileen Garcia December 3, 2017 at 9:51 am

DAY 3! Putting up our Christmas tree and decorating them. Its always been a good bonding time for us to decorate our tree every year.

    • Victoria December 4, 2017 at 12:01 pm

      Hey Aileen,

That’s one of my favourite things to do as well! Do you decorate it the same way every year, or do you switch it up?

  • Candice December 3, 2017 at 9:57 am

Day three : my favorite holiday tradition is sitting down with my siblings and watching National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. Always a good laugh and never gets old. The girls do face masks while the guys just give us โ€˜looksโ€™ ha.

    • Victoria December 4, 2017 at 12:02 pm

      Hi Candice,

I love that movie! It’s hilarious ๐Ÿ™‚ You should try involving the guys into the face masks this year haha, would make for a great memory!

  • Toby December 3, 2017 at 10:21 am

Day 3 : We look forward to opening that one present Christmas Eve.

    • Victoria December 4, 2017 at 12:27 pm

      Hi Toby,

That’s amazing! We have a rule where we can only open up a present on the eve as well! If there are more, we have to open one a day so that it makes the holidays last longer haha ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Gladys December 3, 2017 at 10:24 am

Day 3: My favorite tradition is decorating the tree with our kids. Now that they are older, it’s nice to see them get excited about wanting to decorate it themselves.

      Hey Gladys,

That’s so sweet! That’s one of my favourite traditions as well ๐Ÿ™‚

We do a similar thing as well on the eve! Excepts ours are fluffy socks haha ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Jenny Nguyen December 3, 2017 at 10:47 am

Day 3: My favorite holiday tradition is definitely getting together with ALL your friends and family and stuffing my face (and belly) with delicious food. Not only the traditional turkey and stuffing, but also Vietnamese food that my family would cook! Best of both worlds ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Victoria December 4, 2017 at 12:58 pm

      Hey Jenny,

I love being able to indulge in all of the vietnamese food during the holidays as well! We have dishes that are tradition for the holidays that I don’t usually get to eat at other times of the year – my belly is always the happiest when the holidays roll around lol

  • Teresa L. December 3, 2017 at 11:33 am

Day3 : Favorite Holiday tradition is putting up the Christmas tree with my baby bear, and while singing along to Christmas music. Oh and I am going to Florida with the family. So I am super excited ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Victoria December 4, 2017 at 1:00 pm

      Hi Teresa,

Florida sounds lovely! I’ve never had the opportunity to travel somewhere warm for the holidays so I can only dream about how it feels haha.

  • Gabrielle O'Brien December 3, 2017 at 12:15 pm

    Day 3: I canโ€™t wait for Christmas!!!!๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ
Iโ€™ve been counting down the days since September and listening to Christmas music then too! I would say that my favourite holiday tradition is the week before Christmas we all go to Blue Mountain and have a family get together. We go skating, eat beaver tales, have a sing along with sโ€™mores in front of the fireplace and more! My family is massive so I donโ€™t always get to see all of the Christmas Day!
    XOXO๐Ÿ’‹

    • Victoria December 4, 2017 at 1:25 pm

      Hi Gabrielle,

Me too!! Literally as soon as Halloween is over the Christmas feelings start coming out!

  • Naima December 3, 2017 at 1:11 pm

Day 3: my favourite tradition is making time to reconnect with all the friends I havenโ€™t seen in a while ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Victoria December 4, 2017 at 1:26 pm

      Hi Naima,

It’s so hard to see all of my friends throughout the year that I do the same thing too! Everyone is back in town for the holidays and the reason to see each other are too hard too pass up!

  • Gabriela Monts December 3, 2017 at 1:33 pm

Day 3: Im from El Salvador, but most of my family is here in Canada. As immigrants ourselves, we hate seeing people spending the holidays without their families. So on Christmas eve (the day what we celebrate back home), we invite all of friends and family to share some Salvadorean style turkey as well as some other traditional dishes. Last year we had about 30+ people coming over and it was soooo much fun!

    • Victoria December 4, 2017 at 1:30 pm

      Hey Gabriela,

That’s such an amazing initiative for your family to start! I love when Christmas helps to bring every body together and you’re definitely right that it’s terrible to see people not able to celebrate such a happy time together. I love what you’re doing – keep it up!

  • Lucy December 3, 2017 at 1:44 pm

Day 3 (December 3 2017): My favourite holiday tradition is watching all the old Christmas movies such as Home Alone, A Christmas Story etc. I also try to organize reunions with high school and university friends and it’s always nice when people come from far and wide to celebrate the holidays together!

    • Victoria December 4, 2017 at 1:35 pm

      Hey Lucy,

I love binge watching through all of the holiday movies as well! There’s a new movie on Netflix (completely forget what it’s called) that’s a sweet Princess Christmas story – you should watch it!

      • Lucy December 5, 2017 at 11:20 am

Day 4: We celebrate POSADAS!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Posadas are a catholic tradition: a lot of people participate and have them even without being catholic, because they are so much fun. They are meant to commemorate the journey of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem and their search for a place to stay. Each day we walk to a different house where we learn a bit about their journey, we sing songs and after all that you get food and you get to break a piรฑata. The piรฑata is definitely my favourite part as it brings back memories of my childhood.

PS: I’m dying for that Shu Uemura Oil cleanser!!<3 I got a sample once and I loved it!!

      Hey Charlotte,

Definitely hard too since my dad is such a tech fiend as well! I’ve found in the past that everyday practical things have been great as gifts (ie. a gas card, or paying for a year of the Adobe subscription)!

  • Lucy December 6, 2017 at 8:54 am

Day 6(Dec 6): The hardest person to shop for would be my dad! He always tells me that heโ€™s fine with whatever I get him but that doesnโ€™t make my job any easier lol!

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:50 pm

      Hey Lucy!

I know right?! Doesn’t it just make you feel like you have to get the best gift in the world?!

  • Aga December 6, 2017 at 9:19 am

Day 6: Hi Victoria! Hardest person to shop for is definitely my brother. Never know what to get him!

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:51 pm

      Hey Aga,

Brothers are always a tough one! There’s only so much cologne and accessories that you can give!

  • Cheyenne December 6, 2017 at 9:36 am

Day 6: The hardest person to shop for is my father, by far. Every year I get into a rut thinking about what he might like. He’s the kind of dad who is really handy but also loves clothes. So do I get him an appliance or something to wear? Usually can’t go wrong with a watch (kinda the best of both worlds, right? :p) but this year I really want to up my creativity for him. I’m not sure why I worry so much every year. Every year I worry, and every year he loves whatever I get him.

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:53 pm

      Hey Cheyenne,

I completely sympathize! I find it so hard to shop for my dad as well and there are only so many watches that you can get! Best of luck with your shopping and I’m sure you’ll find the right present!

  • Petrina December 6, 2017 at 9:39 am

Day 6: The hardest person to shop for is my mom. She already has everything and she doesn’t like to have her nails done or go to the spa.

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:53 pm

      Hey Petrina,

That’s so tricky! I hope you’re able to figure out the perfect gift for her ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Michelle W December 6, 2017 at 9:41 am

Day 6: The hardest person for me to shop for is my mother in law!

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:54 pm

      Hey Michelle,

Seems like everyone has the similar problem with their in-laws haha!

  • Richelle Kingsland December 6, 2017 at 12:15 pm

Day 6: The hardest person to shop for is my step-dad! He’s very much a “man’s man” but he’s not really into “things”, so it’s tough finding something he’ll love and use!

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 3:51 pm

      Hey Richelle,

That’s a toughy! Hope you find the right gift!

  • Teresa L. December 6, 2017 at 12:39 pm

DAY6: The hardest person /persons to shop for are my nieces. They are growing older each year and I just don’t know how to shop for them anymore ๐Ÿ˜…

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 3:52 pm

      Hey Teresa,

Would gift cards work as a suitable gift option?

  • Gena Economou December 6, 2017 at 12:52 pm

    Day 6 – (06/12)
The hardest person to shop for is definitely my mom. She is so humble and buys for everyone with wonderful intentions. When it comes to herself – she buys what she needs and then some. Everything never seems enough for what sheโ€™s done but at the same time she has everything. TBD what I get her this year but perhaps a gift card to her favourite spa or restaurant so that she could treat herself!

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 4:13 pm

      Hey Gena,

A spa would be a great gift! If not something material than an experience would be something nice to gift her ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Alaina A December 6, 2017 at 12:55 pm

Day 6: The hardest person to shop for me is my sister! She loves beauty products but has particular preferences and sensitivities, so finding reviews has been so helpful for me.

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 4:14 pm

      Hey Alaina,

That can be tricky! Maybe a giftcard to Sephora so that she can pick out her own products would work?

  • Leslie Rossi December 6, 2017 at 1:29 pm

Day 6: The hardest person to shop for is my father. You literally can’t even mention what you want to buy him because he probably will just go by it for himself (insert eye roll here)

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 5:48 pm

      Hey Leslie,

That’s hilarious! It’s almost as if he is trying to sabotage your gifting efforts lol!

  • Marlene J December 6, 2017 at 1:30 pm

Day 6 (12/6) The hardest person to shop for is my friend, she is not much into anything. ๐Ÿ˜›

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 5:50 pm

      Hey Marlene,

Maybe you can take her to a spa instead ๐Ÿ™‚ That way you two can spend some time together!

  • Candice December 6, 2017 at 1:47 pm

Day six : the hardest person to shop for is my significant other because he ALWAYS goes out and gets himself whatever he wants haha

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 5:51 pm

      Hey Candice!

That’s the reason why we decided not to gift each other anything this Christmas! We always end up buying stuff for ourselves that this year we’re saving up for some home appliances haha.

  • Patricia December 6, 2017 at 2:41 pm

Day6: The hardest person to shop for…is probably doing gift exchange ’cause I don’t know who’s going to pick my gift. My family always does this gift exchange game and it’s hard to pick a gift where it has to for people to use between ages 17-70, unisex, approx $25, useful, and no money/giftcards/chocolate. Any suggestions?? The group is so large that it’s just so difficult to find the one item that everyone can use.

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 5:52 pm

      Hey Patricia,

That’s definitely really hard! I would gravitate towards something like Cards Against Humanity, or a comfy onesie? I never know what to get for Secret Santas either but I always love getting fuzzy socks or some sort of coffee paraphernalia!

  • Samantha December 6, 2017 at 2:58 pm

Day 6 – the person I got for secret santa!

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 5:56 pm

      Hey Samantha,

      I feel that way too!

  • Helen December 6, 2017 at 2:59 pm

Day 6: MEN. Can I get an amen? (lol) Every year it is a struggle to shop for men’s gift, especially for my dad who doesn’t need anything apparently, for my boyfriend and his father. Just my luck, my secret Santa this year is a male as well *tears*

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 5:59 pm

      Hey Helen,

Loved your content – hilarious! I write out the names of all of my gifts onto sticky notes and put them onto the wall so I have an idea of who I need to shop for. Just checked it this morning and it’s all the men still left for me as well!

  • Kim Vo December 6, 2017 at 5:22 pm

Day 6: The hardest person to shop for is my boyfriends mom! We never know what to get her because she always has everything before we even get the chance to buy it ๐Ÿ™

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 6:00 pm

      Hey Kim,

What about something handmade? Or baked? She’ll never be able to get ahold of it before hand ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Mary lynne December 6, 2017 at 5:31 pm

Day 6: the hardest to shop for is my dad..๐Ÿ˜• he has everything that he needs and wants.

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 6:01 pm

      Hey Mary Lynne,

Seems like the same struggle that everyone is facing!

  • Suzanne G December 6, 2017 at 6:01 pm

Day 6: The hardest person to shop for is my husband.

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 12:51 pm

      Hey Suzanne,

That’s tricky! I hope you’re able to get him something nice this year!

  • reeva morgan December 6, 2017 at 6:39 pm

day 6 – the hardest person to shop for is my husband because he has everything and if he sees something he likes or wants he just buys it. “Food” gifts are always a big hit with him though. I usually buy something I want to eat though LOL

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 1:43 pm

      Hey Reeva,

That’s great that he does well with the food gifts! And so smart to just buy something that you enjoy eating as well ๐Ÿ˜‰ It’s more experiential for the two of you haha.

  • Christine December 6, 2017 at 7:17 pm

Day 6: the hardest person for me to shop for is my fiancรฉ – he really doesn’t have anything he needs/wants most years so it’s always a challenge coming up with something exciting!

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 1:47 pm

      Hey Christine,

I have the same problem sometimes too and have found that experiential gifts always work out well! Try a spa getaway or a weekend somewhere ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Gladys December 6, 2017 at 8:59 pm

Day 6: Hardest person is my husband!

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 1:48 pm

      Hey Gladys,

Oh no, so tricky! I hope that you can get him something nice this year ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Kelly m December 6, 2017 at 9:57 pm

    Day 6: My mom!

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 1:50 pm

      Hi Kelly,

Moms are hard! My mom is one who always says she doesn’t need anything so I find it so hard to get her a gift too!

  • Susan Christy December 6, 2017 at 10:29 pm

Day 6 – The hardest person to shop for is my boss. She has exquisite taste and I don’t have the budget for the things she likes!

    • Susan Christy December 9, 2017 at 2:04 pm

Oh! I won!! So excited to receive the Body Shop goodies!!

  • Fatima Rean San Pablo December 6, 2017 at 10:30 pm

The hardest person to shop is my hubby. ๐Ÿ’” He wouldnโ€™t give me any hints what he really likes, itโ€™s always a challenge!

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 3:58 pm

      Hey Fatima,

That’s so hard! P and I love to send each other a list of 10 things that we want so that it’s easier for the other person, but then still a surprise!

  • Tiffany December 6, 2017 at 11:10 pm

Day 6: My dad. Even tho I love shopping for him.. I never know what to get. He says he loves everything I get..but idk if he really likes it or heโ€™s just saying that because Iโ€™m his daughter.

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 3:59 pm

      Hey Tiffany,

That’s always hard, at least he appreciates it ๐Ÿ˜› It’s the gesture that counts right?

  • Ting December 6, 2017 at 11:11 pm

Day 6: my sister. Sheโ€™s 9 years older than me so weโ€™re not from the same generation.

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:00 pm

      Hey Ting,

That’s so hard! Maybe a practical gift would be best for her?

  • Karen L December 7, 2017 at 3:02 am

Day 7: Typically around Thanksgiving when there are a lot of sales going on

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:00 pm

      Hey Karen,

That’s the best time of the year to get everything!

  • Linda December 7, 2017 at 4:43 am

Day 7: I usually start my Christmas shopping in November.

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:02 pm

      Hey Linda,

I always tell myself to try and start earlier (also in Nov) but always somehow end up closer to Christmas – oops!

  • Kim Vo December 7, 2017 at 7:30 am

Day 7: I started my shopping around Thanksgiving/Black Friday!

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:05 pm

      Hey Kim,

That’s the perfect time! You can get everything at such great prices!

  • Teresa L. December 7, 2017 at 9:08 am

DAY7: I started shopping since Thanksgiving, and I think I am almost done.

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:06 pm

      Hey Teresa,

I wish that I could say the same for myself! My Christmas shopping is only 50% done and I still need to get at least 10 more gifts haha.

  • Florence Z December 7, 2017 at 9:13 am

Day 7: I started shopping at the beginning of November because Iโ€™m always paranoid that the good stuff will sell out !

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:07 pm

      Hey Florence,

Oh gosh the anxiety of the holidays is real girl! I know what you mean about things selling out. I try to buy everygreen things that people can purchase all year long if possible to avoid that issue!

  • Christy Keen December 7, 2017 at 9:23 am

I haven’t even started shopping yet.
Maybe I can get some online shopping done today!

    • Christy Keen December 8, 2017 at 10:40 pm

      This was for Day 7

      • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:08 pm

        Hey Christy,

Did you get anything good when you shopped online for your Christmas presents?

  • Petrina December 7, 2017 at 9:46 am

Day 7: I haven’t even started yet ๐Ÿ™ˆ I will probably start this weekend.

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:09 pm

      Hey Petrina,

How did your Christmas shopping go?! Did you manage to get everything that you needed?

  • Charlotte Poon December 7, 2017 at 9:46 am

Day 7: Iโ€™m such a last minute Christmas shopper! Amazon prime has become my best friend haha

    Charlotte
    http://www.deconstrut.com

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:10 pm

      Hey Charlotte,

I’m like that too! Not ashamed to say that I just purchased a Secret Santa gift with Amazon Prime yesterday for the swap on Thursday lol

  • Carol S December 7, 2017 at 12:00 pm

Day 7: I’m such a keener so I start towards the end of October and I’m done by mid-November. I just can’t stand the line-ups in-store and I’m not good at patiently waiting for packages ordered online in December. The early shopping allows me to have more time to spend with my loved ones and take some time for myself (I’m a last minute gift wrapper though lol). Thanks Vic ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:11 pm

      Hey Carol,

That’s amazing! I wish that I could get my stuff done that early in the season!

I’m so not good with lining up in store either, so I essentially become a huge online shopper haha!

  • Marlene J December 7, 2017 at 12:43 pm

Day 7 (12/7): Sage โ€“ Pocket Farmacy Wallet

Q: How early on do you start your Christmas shopping? I shop all year round.

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:12 pm

      Hey Marlene,

That’s a really smart technique! I feel like I might try that and essentially celebrate Christmas all 365 days of the year lol

  • Christine December 7, 2017 at 1:08 pm

Day 7: I always aim to start my Christmas shopping early but it usually ends up happening around the last 2 weeks before Christmas. I’m actually going to be starting today ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:13 pm

      Hey Christine,

I’m like that too! I tell myself to start early but always end up rushing at the end!

  • Aga December 7, 2017 at 2:05 pm

Day 7: At least one month out! Makes it more stress-free

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:14 pm

      Hey Aga,

I wish I was that diligent with my shopping!

  • Layma lodin December 7, 2017 at 3:30 pm

    Day 7: December 7, 2018
Ok donโ€™t laugh- I literally think about Christmas shopping right after halloween๐Ÿ˜‚ BUT I donโ€™t start shopping till the first week of December (the real deals$$$). I hate the Black Friday madness so Iโ€™ll do anything to avoid that ๐Ÿคญ

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:15 pm

      Hey Layma,

Trust me, Christmas starts on Nov 1 as well! Except I can never really get myself to shop that early lol. I just get into the mindset!

  • Gabriela Monts December 7, 2017 at 3:45 pm

Day 7: I am always on the hunt for the perfect gift, but officially start around August, so I can score great deals and I dont have to stress out about gifts at the last minute ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:16 pm

      Hey Gabriela,

Wow that’s really far ahead! I would love to be able to think that far ahead lol

  • Patricia December 7, 2017 at 3:51 pm

Day 7: I start my Christmas Shopping around end of November/Black Friday

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:17 pm

      Hey Patricia,

That’s a great strategy! I try to do a lot of online shopping during Black Friday too!

  • kaitlin lawless December 7, 2017 at 5:42 pm

    Dec 7th, 2017

    I’m a procrastinator… I leave everything to the 22-23rd ๐Ÿ™ˆ

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:59 pm

      Hey Kaitlin,

Eeekkk that’s so last minute lol! Do you have a lot of people to shop for?

  • Gladys December 7, 2017 at 7:03 pm

Day 7: I start some light shopping online with Black Friday and Cyber Monday and then the remainder is done online 1-2 weeks before Christmas.

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 5:00 pm

      Hey Gladys,

Great strategy! I try to start my Christmas shopping around then as well ๐Ÿ™‚

  • reeva morgan December 7, 2017 at 7:41 pm

day 7: i actually shop year round. i have a ‘stash’ for quick gifts

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 5:01 pm

      Hey Reeva,

I’ve always felt that that was a good idea! What happens though if someone wants to exchange a gift that you’ve given to them but it’s return policy is expired?

  • Christina December 7, 2017 at 8:54 pm

Day 7: I shop 1week before! Definitely one of those people you see hustling on christmas eve lol!

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 5:02 pm

      Hey Christina,

As long as you get all of those Christmas presents on time right?!

  • Desiree Martinez December 7, 2017 at 9:00 pm

DAY 7: I always tell myself I will do a one month early christmas shopping but never happens๐Ÿ˜‚ this year tho I got deals in black Friday!! ๐Ÿ™‚ felt like a real shopper lol

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 5:03 pm

      Hey Desiree,

That’s great that you started on your Christmas shopping a little earlier this year! Haha joining the rest of us on the bargain hunt at that time of the year!

  • Rean SP December 7, 2017 at 9:12 pm

Day 7: Christmas is my favorite holiday so I shop when the BER months start! It gives me the early Christmas feel already when i hear SeptemBERโ€”first of the BER months ๐Ÿคฉ

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 5:13 pm

      Hey Rean,

I love that you label them the “BER” months! If only I could start that early on in the year as well!

  • Alaina A December 7, 2017 at 9:18 pm

Day 7: Last minute shopper right here! December 22-24. I worked retail for years and my excuse was to wait for the best deals… but really, the anxiety of my clients and myself during Christmas shopping time just made it harder for me to start. Thanks, Victoria!

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 5:14 pm

      Hey Alaina,

Eeeeek that’s cutting it close! I hope you’re able to find everything that you’re looking for on time!

  • Jessie December 7, 2017 at 11:19 pm

Day 7: I started christmas shopping during the Black Friday madness sales ’cause seriously i find it a lot better than some of the pre holiday sales.
The bundles of skin care and small bags/makeup/clothes/accessories. Just so much better ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 5:17 pm

      Hey Jessie,

Sephora has great sales for those bundles during Black Friday! I love picking those up!

  • Jessica December 8, 2017 at 7:06 am

Day 7: Last week of November when the Christmas music is everywhere and you can’t help but be in a giving mood!

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 5:17 pm

      Hey Jessica,

I’m such a Christmas music suck. The minute Halloween is over, that’s all I’m playing!

  • Gena Economou December 8, 2017 at 8:27 am

    Day 7 07/17
I usually start Christmas shopping extremely late. I am definitely a procrastinator. This year, I started the last week of November. I am feeling super accomplished! Loving it!

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 5:18 pm

      Hey Gena,

That’s amazing! I can’t say the same for myself ๐Ÿ™ I still have quite the presents to pick up!

  • Sarah lam December 8, 2017 at 8:31 am

Day 7: November! Especially Black Friday deals because who doesn’t love a good deal!

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 5:19 pm

      Hey Sarah,

Doesn’t it feel amazing when you score something on a great sale?!

  • Lindsay Manansala December 8, 2017 at 9:13 am

DAY 7: The earliest Iโ€™ve started my Christmas shopping was end of August or during the Labour day long weekend because they usually have amazing back-to-school deals. So I buy stuff not only for myself but for others. But thereโ€™s also Black Friday too ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ˜œ๐ŸŽ„โ™ฅ๏ธ

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 5:20 pm

      Hey Lindsay,

Wow that’s super early! I should definitely get into that mindset!

  • Layma Lodin December 8, 2017 at 11:26 am

Dont laugh, but I literally think about christmas shopping right after halloween (lol) BUT I dont actually start shopping until the first week of december (thats when the real deals start) ๐Ÿ˜‰ I love everything about the holidays and I love shopping, it is definitely the most wonderful time of the year!!

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 5:22 pm

      Hey Layma,

Nothing to laugh about! I listen to Christmas music starting Nov 1!

  • Julia December 8, 2017 at 2:55 pm

Day 7: I start Christmas shopping in January and keep going all year!

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 5:23 pm

      Hey Julia,

Early bird catches the worm right?! That must be so relaxing at the end of the year to find out that you don’t have a lot to shop for!

  • Helen December 8, 2017 at 4:03 pm

Day 7 (12/7): This year for the first time, I finished most of my Christmas gift shopping on Black Friday (woo!) Previous years I always left it to the last minute, 2-3 days before Christmas (mistakes learned)

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 5:24 pm

      Hey Helen,

That’s an amazing feat! Black Friday is usually when I start to think about Christmas shopping!

  • Desirรฉe December 8, 2017 at 6:59 pm

Day 7 (12/7) Iโ€™m actually behind on my shopping this year and itโ€™s totally stressing me out!! Iโ€™m hoping to get most of it done this week though โ˜บ๏ธ

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 5:25 pm

      Hey Desiree,

I’m sure that you’ll be able to get it all done! I haven’t completely finished mine yet either!

  • Aileen December 9, 2017 at 12:42 pm

Day 9 (12/9) -Coming from a family who takes Christmas seriously we make sure we prepare good food during our Nocha Buena on Christmas Eve thats the time our Filipino food really takes off. My favorite highlight of the evening is a whole pig spit-roasted over charcoal, usually served with queso de bolo (edam cheese) and oxtail stew.

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 6:01 pm

      Hey Aileen,

A pig roast sounds delicious! I only ever get those at weddings!

  • Naima December 9, 2017 at 1:01 pm

Day 8: I usually volunteer for a charitable event (usually for the sick kids foundation)

Day 9: all sorts of sweets and chocolates and cookies! Thereโ€™s such an abundance of them during Christmas time and itโ€™s hard to resist when theyโ€™re everywhere

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 6:02 pm

      Hey Naima,

I love that you volunteer for Sick Kids! That’s such a terrible time of the year to be stuck in the hospital ๐Ÿ™

My international friends from uni and I are currently planning on making sandwiches on Christmas day or boxing day. We want to hand them out, along with either coffee or juice, to the homeless people downtown. We were thinking maybe boxing day might be better as more shelters offer food on Christmas day, but not so much after.

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 6:07 pm

      Hey Gabriela,

That’s such a great idea! I think Boxing Day might be great as well since you’re right that many shelters focus on Christmas itself ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Gabriela Monts December 9, 2017 at 1:52 pm

    Day 9:
My favourite thing to eat around the holidays is Salvadoran style turkey on Christmas Eve! Its sooooooo good and so different from the Canadian style that I have on Christmas day.
The Salvadoran style involves roasting pepper, onions, tomatoes and then blending them with oregano, salt, pepper and “relajo” (which literally translates to mess hahaha and its a blend of different spices). We then boil it and cover the turkey with sauce and then we roast it in the oven. The sauce is the best part but takes a long time. Once the turkey is ready we use french bread, radish, watercress, cucumber, tomato and “curtido” (pickled coleslaw) to make sandwiches and we cover them with the sauce! It is amazing<3 The best part is seeing our Canadian friends and family's face when they try it! <3

Day 11: sparkles and glitter always for the holidays! Iโ€™m actually in the middle of making my NYE dress so hopefully that turns out! I also love wearing velvet during the holidays and adding the sparkle and shine via makeup and accessories.

I can’t wait to see what you create for NYE!

  • Lena S December 11, 2017 at 8:34 am

Day 11: I do turn up the sparkle factor for NYE, but I havenโ€™t yet found an outfit so hopefully Boxing Day shopping goes well this year.

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 4:12 pm

      Hey Lena,

Here’s to hoping that the Boxing Day Sales yield you some good options!

  • Aga December 11, 2017 at 8:50 am

Day 11: Sparkle all the way for NYE! I’ve got my red dress for Christmas and my bling ready for New Year’s

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 3:52 pm

      Hey Aga,

      Love the red for Xmas!!

  • Alvin December 11, 2017 at 9:30 am

Day 11: My girlfriend loves getting dressed up for the holidays so I do it too to make her happy! For this NYE weโ€™re going to a party to ring in the new year with all our friends!

  • Lucy December 11, 2017 at 10:00 am

Day 11: Sparkle factor all the way through the holidays ! Wearing some sexy heels with gorgeous dark emerald green sparkle and then metallic silver shoes to go with my Christmas and NYE outfits !

  • Lucy December 11, 2017 at 10:01 am

Day 11: Sparkle factor all the way through the holidays ! Wearing a pair of heels with gorgeous dark emerald green sparkle and then metallic silver shoes to go with my Christmas and NYE outfits !

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:54 pm

      Hey Lucy,

Emerald green sounds phenomenal! Paired with the sparkle it’ll look amazing!

  • Emma M. December 11, 2017 at 10:14 am

Day 11: I have this gorgeous plum dress with lace detail that I bought last year but I also got a new black skirt and red velvet top this year. Trying to decide which one to wear when will be the tough part, they’re both so Seasonal! I’ll be turning up the sparkle factor with accessories for both outfits!

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:53 pm

      Hey Emma,

You should totally do an outfit change in the middle of the event haha! That would be perfect – get the opportunity to wear both outfits at both events!

  • Lindsay Manansala December 11, 2017 at 10:32 am

    DAY 10:
My favourite content on your blog would have to be the “Travel” section. Seeing the photos and reading your blog about the different countries/areas you’ve traveled to really sparks an interest. I love to travel too. I would like to see more blogs in your “Food” section because who doesn’t love food? ๐Ÿ˜› Like posting blogs about the different restaurants you’ve visited and ate it would be great to read.

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:52 pm

      Hey Lindsay,

Thanks for the feedback! I looooove to eat out and would definitely try to incorporate more food in 2018! Big things to come on the blog so be on the lookout for more content!

  • Lindsay Manansala December 11, 2017 at 10:37 am

DAY 11: I definitely turn up the sparkle factor during the holidays… especially for NYE. & you’ll see the sparkle factor on my Christmas tree and decorations around my house. For Christmas, my family decided to do a dress code so we can wear anything that is red, white, or green. Or we can wear a combination of all three colours. For NYE, our dress code is wearing anything that has polka dots or “shine bright like a diamond” anything that sparkles/glitters. I’ve already got a polka dot top that shines that I’ll be wearing; it’s cute but stylish.

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:51 pm

      Hey Lindsay,

That’s so cute that you guys have a dress code! I’ve never done that with my family before and might have to try that one one year! Thanks for the great idea ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Patricia December 11, 2017 at 11:15 am

Day 11: yaaaassss definitely love the sparkles for the holidays (anytime actually LOL), but especially for NYE! I always see pretty outfits on mannequins and I’m always like I WANT THATTTT but I have yet to find the perfect one still. ๐Ÿ™ For Christmas, I usually opt for something red.

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:50 pm

      Hey Patricia,

I know exactly how you feel! The Zara mannequins have me feeling all sorts of sparkly right now!

  • Carol S December 11, 2017 at 11:23 am

Day 11: I love all things sparkle and glitter for NYE. It’s the only time I ever wear sparkle because I tend to be low key on regular basis. I have a beautiful 1920’s style sparkly dress cued up for that night. I love to wear sparkly red nail polish during the holiday season too.

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:49 pm

      Hey Carol,

NYE is definitely your time to shine! I’m all for turning up the sparkle at that time of the year!

  • Suzanne G December 11, 2017 at 11:51 am

Day 11: I like to add some sparkle but keep it classy. On Christmas Day I am wearing leather leggings and longer sweater that has glittery stars on it. For New Year’s I will be wearing a LBD and heels.

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:39 pm

      Hey Suzanne,

Love the comfy factor of your Christmas outfit and the glam style of your NYE one!

  • Marlene J December 11, 2017 at 1:01 pm

Day 11 (12/11): T3 Micro โ€“ Convertible Base, Tousled Waves, Undone Waves
Q: Do you turn up the sparkle factor for the holidays? I’m a sparkle girl all year round.
What are you planning on wearing for Christmas and NYE? A velvet dress & jacket with silver sparkles

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:38 pm

      Hey Marlene,

That sounds like an amazing outfit! I’m loving the velvet trend right now and it helps with the warmth too!

  • Leslie Rossi December 11, 2017 at 1:10 pm

Day 11 (12/11): Q: Do you turn up the sparkle factor for the holidays? What are you planning on wearing for Christmas and NYE?
I’m planning on wearing a new pink sparkle dress from Oak and Fort! Fits me so well so I’m pretty excited to show it off during the holidays. I’ll probably also end up wearing sweats at my moms for Christmas Day in the morning, gotta keep comfy and cozy!

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:36 pm

      Hey Leslie,

I didn’t know that Oak & Fort had sparkly clothes! I’m definitely going to have to check them out!

  • Petrina December 11, 2017 at 1:12 pm

Day 11: I love wearing sparkly dresses/skirts for NYE and I love having my nails done with sparkle for the holidays. I’m planning on wearing a rose-goldish sparkly dress.

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:34 pm

      Hey Petrina,

That rose-gold dress sounds divine! I haven’t yet put together my NYE outfit but definitely am inspired by your colour palette now!

  • Michelle December 11, 2017 at 1:24 pm

Day 11: NYE and Christmas are the only two days of the year that I can wear my sparkly shirts cause it seems like too much glam for normal school life haha. So definitely going with the sparkles ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:34 pm

      Hey Michelle,

Go glam or go home! LOL I would definitely say that you can rock the sparkly shirt at school if you wanted to! But absolutely take advantage of the holidays to shine as well!

  • Helen December 11, 2017 at 1:26 pm

Day 11: I’ve never been a fan of sparkle outfits cuz I never find a piece that don’t have fall outs, cheap material, and make you uncomfortable the entire time wearing it. Instead, I opt for accessorizing with all things sparkly (i,e,. makeup, nails, clutch, jewelries). Where does everyone get their gorgeous good quality sparkle outfits?!

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:32 pm

      Hey Helen,

That’s a great move! I hate when sparkly clothes are itchy! I actually got a great bodysuit from Dynamite last year that had sparkles inlayed into the material but wasn’t scratchy at all! Was such a great find ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Becky December 11, 2017 at 1:37 pm

Day 11: I do turn up the sparkle factor for the holidays, but I keep it subtle! For Christmas I usually wear a shimmery red nail polish while for NYE, I change it up and wear a champagne-colored nail polish with pink glittery sparkles. Iโ€™m planning on wearing a Santa sweater that lights up on Christmas Day, and then an all-black outfit with shimmery eyeshadow for NYE!

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:31 pm

      Hey Becky,

Love the nail colour change up – that’s commitment! I don’t think I’ve ever switched up my nail colour that quickly haha!

  • Alana Jade December 11, 2017 at 2:08 pm

Day 11: I dislike sparkly clothing but I love wearing glittery nail polish for the holidays. I plan on wearing a maroon dress with leggings on NYE

  • Teresa L. December 11, 2017 at 2:23 pm

Day11 : I am all about the sparkle and anything sequin for the holiday. What i always say is ringing in the new year, i better be shinning bright like a diamond. I have not found what i want to wear yet, but I am hopeful since time is slowly running out. Wish me luck. Did you find anything yet ?

    • Victoria December 11, 2017 at 2:31 pm

      Hey Teresa,

I love being all twinkly for NYE! I have yet to find anything myself this year since I haven’t quite made plans yet but I promise it’ll be just as sparkly!

  • karen December 11, 2017 at 2:55 pm

Day 11: I feel NYE is one of the few appropriate days of the year where I should wear sparkles. I’m wearing a sparkly gold top this NYE

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 1:51 pm

      Hey Karen,

NYE is definitely a call for sparkles! And the gold top is definitely perfect for this time of the year ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Kim Vo December 11, 2017 at 3:47 pm

Day 11: I’ll be celebrating New Years in Vegas! So excited to wear this one shoulder navy dress that is very sparkly. I’ll be pairing it with black pumps. As for Christmas, I’ll be dressing down and staying warm in a turtle neck since the weather is getting colder.

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 3:33 pm

      Hey Kim,

The navy sparkly dress sounds lovely! I can definitely get behind turtlenecks for Christmas since all you want to do is cuddle up!

  • Layma Lodin December 11, 2017 at 4:09 pm

Day11: I turn up the sparkle year round but go all out for the holidays! Anything sparkly will either be on my face or worn on my body, Im talking fenty killawat highlighter sparkle!!! I plan on wearing a cute/ ugly sweater for Christmas and for new years I plan on going full on gold sparkle dress!!

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 3:44 pm

      Hey Layma,

I love that you’re not afraid to turn up the sparkle factor on your face as well haha! And damnnnn I would kill to be using the Fenty highlighter!

  • Jackie M December 11, 2017 at 5:35 pm

Day 11 (12/11): I’m slight sparkle girl – I would wear a black dress and sparkle it up with a statement necklace

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 3:55 pm

      Hey Jackie,

      Any amount of sparkle counts!

  • Janice December 11, 2017 at 5:57 pm

Day 11 (December 11): For me, sparkle only comes out when it’s the holidays. I would typically go with a sparkle nail or a sparkle top, nothing too over the top. For New Year’s Eve, I’m searching for a sparkle dress but if I can’t find any, I’m sticking to a black wrap dress with a simple long necklace !

  • Tiffany V December 11, 2017 at 6:13 pm

DAy 10: I really like all your travel posts. It helps offer me options for when I want to go. also, you take nice pictures that shows off the place. I would like to see more fashion posts as that is what I am into.

    • Tiffany V December 11, 2017 at 6:13 pm

      day 12*

      • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 3:57 pm

        Hey Tiffany,

Thanks for the feedback! I love to showcases the places that I travel to besides just the outfits that I’m wearing while I’m there ๐Ÿ™‚

  • reeva morgan December 11, 2017 at 6:15 pm

day 11 – i keep it simple. I havent chose what i’m wearing yet, since the weather is so fickle. but i’m definitely wearing my faux fur vest

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 3:59 pm

      Hey Reeva,

I feel you! It’s been off and on with the cold and we finally got snow so now I feel like I want sweaters!

  • Tiffany V December 11, 2017 at 6:15 pm

day 11: LOL wow why did i do that

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:00 pm

      Hey Tiffany,

No worries! I got them ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Ting December 11, 2017 at 6:17 pm

DAY 11: no glamming it up but we have a family tradition where we wear the ugliest Christmas sweater we can find!

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:00 pm

      Hey Ting,

I love being able to wear ugly christmas sweaters, such a juxtaposition against the glitz and glam!

  • Anna T December 11, 2017 at 6:30 pm

Day 11 (12/11): I am not a sparkle gal but I do love my statement pieces.
My husband and I have a tradition to wear matching sweaters to the family Christmas gathering, no sparkle for that day. It’s a black sweater with white reindeer print. This year we are ringing in 2019 in England, there will be a tiny sparkle ๐Ÿ™‚ I will incorporate my Yurman bracelet with a lace/silk black dress.

    Happy Holidays!

  • Catherine L December 11, 2017 at 6:40 pm

I think Iโ€™ll have some glitter left over from the xmas cards Iโ€™m writing, but otherwise not. For xmas I am wearing jeggings (elastic waist for food) and my coziest sweater (comfort first). And for New yearโ€™s? Perhaps a deal Iโ€™ll snag on boxing day!

  • Alice December 11, 2017 at 8:27 pm

Day 11: I want to be comfortable during parties, so I usually avoid sequins! But I will turn up the sparkle factor with some accessories! Also, I have this navy blue rosette dress tucked away in my closet, just waiting for this holiday season to come around!

  • Donna Pham December 11, 2017 at 8:29 pm

Day 11: I can honestly say, this is the FIRST year I have ever bought an ugly Christmas sweater but its more for work purposes. I love to get festive with my nails having them all glittery and red of course! Still deciding on what to wear for parties but definitely will be rocking some fuzzy socks :P.

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:01 pm

      Hey Donna,

Ahaha this is the first year that I’ve bought one for myself too! I usually borrow one from someone but caved when I saw the cutest one from Ardene’s lol ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Linda December 11, 2017 at 8:32 pm

Day 11: YES YES YES! Sparkles all the way to glam things up for the holidays and new year ๐Ÿ˜‰ I also love plaid, so I’ll be wearing plaid and sparkles for xmas and NYE <3

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:02 pm

      Hey Linda,

Yes so much sparkle! And plaid is perfect against the sparkles!

  • Nancy December 11, 2017 at 8:33 pm

    Day 11: 11/12/17
    Hey Victoria!
Christmas and New Years are my favourite holidays! Gotta jazz it up with the sparkles! Haha I’m thinking of a red coat with black turtleneck sweater paired with dark blue jeans. For shoes, some black ankle boots! As for New Years, maybe a sparkly sequin dress with OTK boots!
Hope you have a good holiday!

  • Samantha December 11, 2017 at 8:51 pm

100% sparkle person! Don’t know my outfits yet but they will include either sequins or velvet! โœจโœจ

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:05 pm

      Hey Samantha,

Woohoo for the sparkle! I’m sure you have more than enough time to hunt something down ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Kelly T December 11, 2017 at 8:54 pm

Day 11: Haven’t though about Christmas outfit but has been looking for a velvet blouse with little details. Love velvet its shiny but not glaring. For sure to give some shimmer for my make up and glitter for nails xoxo

  • Abigail December 11, 2017 at 8:56 pm

Definitely sparkles!!! Best time of year to wear it ๐Ÿ™‚ On Christmas I’ll be wearing a forest green dress most likely with a little bit of sparkle and NYE is still TBD! I’m sure it will also contain a little bit of holiday sparkle!

  • Kelila Wong December 11, 2017 at 9:15 pm

Day 11: I am not a sparkly type of person so I will not be turning on the sparkle this Christmas but now that I think about it, I would be open to finding a cute piece! โ˜บ๏ธโœจ

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:06 pm

      Hey Kelila,

I’m not huge on sparkles regularly but Christmas is the time of the year to turn it on for sure!

  • Alaina A December 11, 2017 at 9:17 pm

Day 11: honestly, Iโ€™m afraid of sparkles! I usually stick to just my makeup and some jewelery. Leather sheen at best. But Iโ€™m looking to give it a shot! Always loving my merino sweaters and wool topcoats for the holidays

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:07 pm

      Hey Alaina,

Leather is good for Christmas too! I love playing around with textures during the holidays since it’s so much fun ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Cassandra G December 11, 2017 at 9:22 pm

Day 11 – The holidays are ALL about the sparkle factor! Christmas I tend to be more on the cozy side so Iโ€™ll wear an off the shoulder sweater with leather leggings. I like to add little touches of sparkle so Iโ€™ll have my nails/eye makeup done with some shimmer. For my NYE outfit Iโ€™ll be making a trip to Zara because they have lots of sparkle out right now. Canโ€™t wait!

  • Kelly m December 11, 2017 at 9:35 pm

Day 11: I like shimmery makeup! Not sure what I’m wearing yet ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:09 pm

      Hey Kelly,

I love the idea of shimmery makeup! I’m not that great with my makeup so I always end up celebrating Christmas with sparkly clothes haha!

  • Kim December 11, 2017 at 9:35 pm

Day 11: I bought dupes for the YSL crystal Niki boots and a star print dress. So you could say: yes I’m turning up the sparkle!

  • Frankie G December 11, 2017 at 9:44 pm

Day 11: It’s really the only time of year when I feel like I can get away with a little more sparkle! Most probably gonna’ be a bright red lippie with some iridescence to it, ’cause I can! Hehe! In regards to what I’ll be wearing for the holidays, I have this thing where I need to wear at least one new article of clothing when the New Year rings in. Maybe, this year it means something with sequins…๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿค” Haha definitely tempted! But, what I’m really excited about for the Holidays (probably a little too excited) is being able to wear ALL THINGS VELVET and getting away with it. Muahaha! I can’t wait. #noshame

  • Gabriela Monts December 11, 2017 at 9:44 pm

    Day 11:

    Hey Victoria!
I honestly love turning on the sparkle for the holidays, specially NYE!โœจ
This year Im planing to wear a square neck LBD and a pair of chunky glittery heels!โœจโœจ Im also looking for a faux fur coat to wear, so I am hoping I will find one during boxing week! ๐Ÿ™‚

PS. I couldnt find the comment, but I think its soooo kind of you to take the time to reply! hahaha last time I surprised my boyfriend with a jacket, I packed it tightly in a shoebox ahahahah his face was priceless!<3

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:11 pm

      Hey Gabriela,

I love a sparkle for NYE! Sparkles should definitely be flying everywhere for that time of the year!

I love love love the faux fur coats at Topshop right now – they have the perfect teddy bear coat if that’s what you’re looking for!

My favourite part of this giveaway is being able to reply back to each and every one of the comments ๐Ÿ™‚ I love to learn more about my readers and it’s so entertaining! What do you plan on doing with the wrapping situation this year for your boyfriend?!

  • Jordan Blumberg December 11, 2017 at 10:13 pm

    December 11, 2017 – Day 11

I feel like the holidays are the one time of year where a lot of sparkle is expected! I can’t wait to rock a sparkly dress for New Years ( and beautiful tousled waves ;))!!

  • Rose C December 11, 2017 at 10:15 pm

Day 11: Iโ€™m not usually a sparkle/shimmer type of person – I like to keep my style classic. However for this year, my friends and I are planning to be as extra as possible haha full on sequins and sparkly dresses. We all ordered them from online and it hasnโ€™t arrived yet so fingers crossed theyโ€™ll fit right! Thank you for doing this giveaway!

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:12 pm

      Hey Rose,

I love the extra-ness of your plans! Go all the way it’s definitely the time of the year to do it without feeling bad!

  • Gladys December 11, 2017 at 10:16 pm

Day 11: I tend to add sparkle through my jewelry and makeup!

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:13 pm

      Hey Gladys!

I love sparkly makeup but can never accomplish it chicly lol. So I just gravitate towards clothing haha.

  • Jessica C December 11, 2017 at 10:30 pm

Day 11: My style is very simplistic and would usually prefer comfort over style… So for the holidays this year, I’m planning to wear this dress I bought when I was back home just 3 weeks ago!

  • Sarah December 11, 2017 at 11:46 pm

Day 11: I definitely try to add in a little of sparkle factor to my classic style. This year for NYE, I plan on wearing this beautiful wispy, black feathery skirt with a black top that has bit of sparkle in it and pairing all this with some metallic flats. I fell in love with the skirt as soon as I saw it in stores!

  • Megan tan December 11, 2017 at 11:50 pm

Day 11. No sparkles for Christmas just my pyjamas to spend the night in with friends and family. Iโ€™ll save my A-game for New Years! Tights, boots, a lace dress or something with a pop of colour and warm jacket to save me from the Toronto cold!

  • Shana R December 12, 2017 at 12:53 am

Day 11: The Holidays are the one time of year where I get sparkly! Most of the time I dress pretty casual. But I’m going to go all out this year with a glittery sequin outfit and my hair done up! Can’t wait.

  • Kim Vo December 12, 2017 at 2:50 pm

Day 12: I work in a lab and it is always busy around the holidays. I try to relax by having a good workout or going out for a good meal! I like to workout because it really clears my mind and eating great meal always makes me feel better!

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:15 pm

      Hey Kim,

I used to work in a lab so I completely get the stress! Everyone is trying to wrap up their projects before year end ๐Ÿ™

      A good workout always helps!

  • Charlotte Poon December 12, 2017 at 2:54 pm

Day 12: the holidays always has me so busy and worried about gifts that sometimes itโ€™s nice to just force yourself to sit back and enjoy the snowfall while sipping some hot cocoa!

    Charlotte
    http://www.deconstrut.com

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:16 pm

      Hey Charlotte!

I know! I have to shop for so many people that it gets me a little anxious sometimes. I might try to propose a no gift Christmas one year and see how it goes. Dinners and hot chocolate FTW!

  • megan tan December 12, 2017 at 2:55 pm

day 12: i relax by having a hot shower, setting the mood with lots of candles, playing some chillout music on spotify and pamper myself with a face mask and mani pedi at home

  • Emma M. December 12, 2017 at 3:08 pm

Day 12: I have exams right before that are a VERY BIG stress LOL. Normally I’ll give myself mini breaks throughout but I try to relax by watching an episode on TV (Currently prevents me from binge watching The Crown) or bake some holiday treats! The holidays are normally a break/de-stresser from exams but I always worry about finishing up all the shopping and having time to wrap them before Christmas Eve

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 4:17 pm

      Hey Emma,

I LOVE The Crown! I haven’t started the new season yet as I’m trying to work my way through the second season of This Is Us!

Best of luck with your exams – you’ll ace them! And eat allllll the baked goodies!

  • Helen December 12, 2017 at 4:04 pm

Day 12: I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t stressed during the holidays. If it weren’t for all the exams stacked in December, everything that leads up to the holiday would be 100x more enjoyable. Strangely, I get very agitated if I don’t study during the break because I know what awaits me in January so my way of relaxing is studying/preparing for the new term. I look forward to the day where I won’t feel guilty for indulging in relaxation during the holidays (& be able to afford it haha)

P.S. Thank you for taking your time to reply back to comments! I will definitely check out Dynamite for NYE outfit inspo!

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 5:00 pm

      Hey Helen,

That’s a good way of putting it! Trust me, you will definitely enjoy not studying down the road when you’re done your exams ๐Ÿ˜‰ I remember that stress!

  • Patricia December 12, 2017 at 4:11 pm

I’m usually stressed from studying for exams before the holiday begins and my method of destressing is encouraging myself that I’m almost done and I usually plan places to go or eat (I enjoy going on food adventures with my friends or family!) so that I have something to look forward to when exams are over.

    • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 5:00 pm

      Hey Patricia,

Seems like lots of people studying around the holidays! At least once the holidays start you’ll have the time off to relax!

  • Tessa Kerr-Keller December 12, 2017 at 4:16 pm

The thing I find most stressful about the holidays is it suddenly seems like I don’t have any time. Spare moments are taken up by winter activities, planning, gift shopping and anything else and suddenly a month’s gone by! I find it can be easy to forget to take a moment for myself this time of year so this year I’ve been really focused on making sure I set time aside to reset. A quick meditation, yoga or even just a cup of tea and sitting still really seem to help refresh. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Tessa Kerr-Keller December 12, 2017 at 4:17 pm

Forgot to specify but! Day 12

      • Victoria December 12, 2017 at 5:02 pm

        Hey Tessa,

Haha my sentiments too! I feel that once the holidays roll along I’m going to so many dinners and gift exchanges that there isn’t actually much time in itself to really relax and enjoy the time off!

        • Tessa Kerr-Keller December 13, 2017 at 9:27 am

Exactly! And it’s such a great time of year, best to make sure we enjoy it!

  • Rose C December 12, 2017 at 7:07 pm

Day 12: December is definitely one of the most hectic months of the year with the holidays and exams coming up, it definitely stresses me out! However I try to find little ways to pamper myself and de-stress. Doing even a 20 minute face masks helps a lot! I recently bought a face steamer to help my skin better absorb the essence. That way, if I am unable to make a trip to the spa, I can still try to pamper my skin!

  • Christina T December 12, 2017 at 7:58 pm

Day 12: I get stressed during the holidays due to the planning and meet ups alongside the present shopping and working! I try to relax by taking a nice warm shower and getting cozy under my blanket ๐Ÿ’•

  • Samantha December 12, 2017 at 8:19 pm

Um, yes! The holidays can be so stessful ๐Ÿ˜ค I destress with face masks, lots of tea, warm baths and ofcourse Christmas movies๐Ÿ“ฝ๐ŸŽ„

  • Samantha December 12, 2017 at 8:21 pm

Day 12- Um, yes! The holidays can be so stressful๐Ÿ˜ค I destress with face masks, lots of tea, warm baths and ofcourse Christmas movies๐Ÿ“ฝ๐ŸŽ„

  • Tiffany V December 12, 2017 at 8:38 pm

day 12: I’m usually stressed about not having enough money to buy presents for the people I love. Also, during the holidays I always overeat so I have to worry about going to the gym later. I know it is not about the price, but things can be pricey these days. And I usually start stressing about the next semester already haha. I try to relax by watching movies and keeping my brain occupied. I also enjoy a hot bath with bathbombs from lush.

  • Kelila Wong December 12, 2017 at 8:48 pm

Day 12: Hi Victoria! YESSSS, the holidays are extremely stressful for me. My entire December compose of me studying for my exams and stress shopping for last minute Christmas gifts! I try to relax by eating lots of delicious foods and by binge watching Netflix shows ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Gena Economou December 12, 2017 at 9:09 pm

    Day 12 (12/12)
The holidays can be uber stressful. I like to unwind in front of the TV with a favourite snack. Meditate. Nap or even attend a hot yoga class. It depends what kind of stress I am. If I am overworked I want to relax. If I have my mind racing, hot yoga does the trick. I also have loved journaling these past few months to help with anxiety!

  • Petrina Huang December 12, 2017 at 10:05 pm

Day 12: Holiday season is always stressful!! Thinking of what to buy everyone and shopping in crowded malls with long lines is the worst ๐Ÿ˜ฆ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  • Cassandra G December 12, 2017 at 10:49 pm

Day 12 – I never really found the holidays stressful, this time of year actually excites me. So I donโ€™t get overwhelmed I write down my list of gifts for people prior to going to the mall so I know which stores I need to go to. Another little secret I buy the peppermint halo wand from Saje Wellness and I use it prior to my trip to mall so Iโ€™m relaxed and less anxious!

  • Lucy December 12, 2017 at 11:34 pm

Day 12: for part of the holidays, I actually have to work and so from that perspective it does stress me out. However, on the days that I do have off, I like to take it easy – sleep in, dim sum with my bf, and do a bit of shopping.

  • reeva morgan December 12, 2017 at 11:36 pm

Day 12 — I actually schedule an alarm to remind me to go to sleep! It helps me ensure i get at least a good 7 hours of sleep

  • Lucy L December 12, 2017 at 11:53 pm

Day 12- Holidays usually don’t have me stressed because that is what exams are for LOL. However, to relax during this time I crank up holiday songs like thee Christmas anthem by Mariah Carey to sing and dance to for pent up relieve or take a relaxing hot shower. Either works ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Marlene J December 12, 2017 at 11:55 pm

    Day 12 (12/12): Miraj Hammam โ€“ Hammam & Gommage 30 Min Treatment
Q: Does the holidays ever have you stressed, and if so, how do you relax?
    A. No, the holidays don’t stress me – I shop all year round, so I don’t have to do it during the holidays season with tonnes of crazies.
I relax by taking bubble baths, listening to music, reading a book, watching a movie & so on.

  • Linda December 13, 2017 at 2:03 am

Day 12: When I get stressed from the holidays, I sit down and read a good book.

  • Michelle December 13, 2017 at 11:44 am

Day 12: The most stressful part of the holidays is finding gift for everyone, I’m so bad at choosing gifts. Best way to distress is to snuggle up in my blankets with some hot chocoate and marathon some kdramas ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Layma Lodin December 13, 2017 at 12:23 pm

day 12: the holidays always stress me out, but with managing work and school full time I think Im well experienced on how to handle stress lol! I can always calm myself down by lighting a holiday scented candle, sitting in some cozy Pjs with a warm cup of tea, and making a very detailed check list on what needs to be done. That always seems to work for me!

  • Kim Vo December 13, 2017 at 12:57 pm

Day 13: My favourite memory of 2017 was celebrating going on my first sisters’ trip with my twin to New Orleans. We’ve traveled together in groups, but never just the two of us and although we’re best friends, I was afraid we’d fight like cats and dogs. It was the smoothest vacation ever and we’re already planning our next sisters’ trip.

  • Helen December 13, 2017 at 4:23 pm

Day 13: Thank you so much for another giveaway! I’m going to miss reading stories and experiences from everyone in thelistlistt community as well as sharing mine. I’m a huge birthday planner for loved ones all year round but comes my birthday- being late in the year & is always during exams- everyone including myself don’t have time so it was never really celebrated. This year was my first to experience such love & blessing on my birthday, lots of tears were shed. I feel for everyone with a birthday close to the holidays or during exam season!
