50 Must-Have Summer Shoes

50 Summer Shoes for Under $50

We may be part way into summer, but that doesn’t meant that you can’t still be shopping for summer clothes! Now is actually the best time since most of the retailers will be marking down their summer stock to make way for everything fall and winter. I’ve already seen some places begin to stock Halloween decor, which is absolutely absurd to me since that’s more than 3 months away, but hey, why not take advantage of those sales and stock up on cute summer shoes for all of the remaining trips that you’re planning on taking?!

Slides

There’s nothing like a good pair of slides for the summer time. Be it rubber, cork, leather, plastic, or whatever sort of material that you have, a good pair of slides will live with you all season. Since slides are quite seasonal, I find it the easy contender to jazz up a bit. Stop going for those basic black straps and play around with prints and embellishments! You won’t really be wearing these shoes into the fall, winter, or spring, so don’t worry about getting a pair that’s neutral. Have some fun and also play around with different textures as well! My particular favourite are the Faris Slides from The Fix.

Sandals

If you’ve got too many slides, then the next option to invest in are sandals. These are the shoes that you can really wear all year round since sandals can often be re-used for formal gatherings. I love getting a statement pair of sandals in the summer and re-wearing them at weddings throughout the year. My favourite from this bunch is the beautiful red and pink pair from Rebecca Minkoff! Who doesn’t love a good pair of multi-purpose shoes?!

Platforms

To add a little bit of height to your day-to-day, platforms will be your go to. I don’t know about you, but my sense of balance is terrible so all platforms need to have either a buckle at the ankle or a thick strip over my foot so that I’m secure in my shoes all day long. My pick would definitely have to be the adorable laser-cut pair from See by Chloe! Who could resist a good scalloped platform? With most platforms being made in neutral tones, they can easily be re-worn year after year!

Mules

My absolute most favourite style of shoe at the moment is the mule. They’re so convenient to slip on-and-off and come in a myriad of styles, designs, textures, and colours. I already have quite a few pairs to myself, but continuously think of stocking up on more now that the sales are in full-force. It’s just way too efficient to slide them on-and-off your feet at whim that I never want to have to put on a pair of shoes with a zipper or pair of laces anymore! Who’s with me in their love for mules?!

Espadrilles

Espadrilles are also such a summer must-have. Not only does the height help to make you look taller, but the laces wrapped around your ankles seriously help to make your legs look longer as well. Not only do espadrilles help with your height visually and physically, but they’re ridiculously comfortable to walk in a well and are the perfect addition to any summer outfit! I’m such a sucker for anything gingham, so the pink Jean Lace espadrilles by Castaner pair is seriously calling my name.

      Hey Lisa,

I’m completely on board with you there! If I could, I would absolutely get all of the shoes! Unfortunately Peter would not have it with me if I took up all of the space on our shoe rack with our shoes haha!
