Staying Up All Night at the Thompson with Origins

Last week, I finally did something that I was in dire need of for a long time – a staycation. As a marketer and blogger, I’m literally working 24/7. When most people get to wrap up work at 5 and head out to hang with their friends, I rotate from my 9-5 to my 5-9. I’ve never been one to stop working since lack of productivity leaves me feeling anxious. Though this may appear to be a positive trait for some, I sometimes feel like it’s a curse. I’m always left hunting for the next thing and I never give my body the rest and relaxation it deserves. So when Origins approached me to join them on a staycation at the Thompson Hotel, I knew that naturally I deserved it!

Cherry Pop

I’ve spent the last couple of months making a concerted effort to integrate more colour into my life. I have to say that it’s definitely freeing! Sure, I still gravitate towards my neutrals, but it’s been really nice to be able to now pick from other colours in my closet besides just black, white, beiges, and browns. I won’t lie though and say that I’m now wearing every colour under the rainbow because I definitely am not. I’ve recently only begun to incorporate pinks, reds, and florals into my attire and I fully blame my blogger friends for it! Everytime I’m around Tee or Camilla, they’re wearing the cutest floral dresses and I’m left with serious FOMO due to my lack-of-colour of a closet. Thus, inspired to start wearing more colour and florals. Trust me, it’s a breath of fresh air.

Celebrting 15 Years of the Sweetie

Dress – Marshall's / Jacket – All Saints (similar here) / Heels – Stuart Weitzman / Bracelet – Links of London

When I was younger, charm bracelets were a big thing in my life. I would visit the mall once a month to pick up a new one to add to my collection. From clip on charms, to chain link bracelets, you name it – I had it! Sadly though, jewelry made for children isn't necessarily designed to grow with you. A lot of the charm bracelets that I had owned at the time ended up tarnishing, breaking, and even getting lost. Yep, lost. I wasn't the most careful child out there.

Calgary Travel Diary: Stampeding with GMC

Dress – Muche et Muchette / Boots – Cartel / Bandana – Zara / Hat – Smithbilt Hats

A few weeks ago, P and I had the pleasure of going to the Calgary Stampede for the first time ever. Thanks to GMC for taking us there, we had the opportunity of experiencing the rodeo first hand, and exploring the wildnerness of Calgary. If you remember a couple months back, towards the beginning of this year, I went with a bunch of girls to Banff to check out the view. Albeit being wintertime, the landscape was unbelievably beautiful. I made a solemn promise to myself that I would eventually be back in the summer just to see how beautiful the views are unobstructed by snow.

Tips for Posing Better in Your Photos

I want to preface this post by stating the obvious – I’m not a model. I’ve never received any formal training, and I never model for anyone except for myself. I wouldn’t even consider what I do to be modeling because I have attached a personality behind my clothes, and not act simply as a clothes-hanger. So now that that’s out of the way, let’s get to the main point of this post – how to pose better in your photos!
