Blushing Light

Blushing LightPink isn’t usually my color of choice, but for some reason it has been making its way into many of my outfits as of late. If I’m not in some sort of black and white get up, it seems that all I want to wear is beige and variants of it – including pink.

I recently found this cardigan/jacket melange on a trip to H&M. It was hung haphazardly on one of those clothing racks full of items that were to be reorganized on the floor. It seemed to be the only one left regardless of whatever size existed since I had already been through the entire store and had yet to see it. I was drawn in by the drapey lapels (you should know by now that draping is a huge favorite of mine) and quickly snatched it up before anyone else could.

To be honest, in the changeroom it just looked like a giant pink lab coat. I wasn’t dressed with the appropriate things to make it work, but I just knew that it was destined to become a future favorite. With my first look featuring this piece, I didn’t want to distract from the beautiful blushing shade of pink that it was, so I decided to go with a more monochromatic look that reminds me of the spring. Luckily for us Torontonians, the weather has been kind as of late, and I can get away with baring this much skin as long as I layer up with the right jacket before going outside. Indoors, I’m as comfortable as I can be, especially with my newly acquired blanket scarf.
