Heat Wave

Top – Neon Rose / Jeans – Dynamite / Sunglasses – Celine (Smart Buy Glasses) / Shoes – Gucci

Just when we thought that summer was over, Toronto faced an unprecedented heat wave for two weeks. We literally haven’t had an enjoyable summer for the entire season since the weather kept swaying back and forth between a few humid days and chilly rain days. Definitely not what you call a good summer. While we were in Portugal, we received regular updates from our friends back in Canada that the temperature was dropping, and that we had left at just the right time. I wasn’t looking forward to coming back to sweater weather so soon after enjoying a week or two of sun and warmth. Luckily for us, the chilly temperatures didn’t last long.

Shadowed

Top – Zara / Jeans – MAVI / Bag – Prada, X Nihilo / Shoes – Gucci / Jewelry – Mejuri (1, 2, 3), Cinco / Glasses – Carin

I’ve recently begun playing with different techniques of lighting in my photography since I felt like I was falling into a rut with my content. Typically my photos tend to be shot outdoors in natural lighting, with high contrast but with every detail in the photo visible. I’ve been doing this for a few years now, and it’s starting to feel old. The thing is, it’s nice to figure out what your style of photography is, and it’s even easier to fall into the habit of using it every single time. Why? Because it’s a safe bet. I know that it’ll be the perfect recipe to ensure that my content comes out nicely. But that doesn’t challenge me. And lately I’ve been feeling like I’ve been settling.

BR x OP

Dress – Banana Republic x Olivia Palermo / Shoes – Zara / Bag – Chloe (Reebonz) / Sunglasses – Covry / Bracelets – David Yurman (similar here), Links of London

I first learned of Olivia Palermo from the spin off show from The Hills – The City. The show didn’t exactly portray her in the best light, but I was instantly drawn to her for her perfectly put together outfits each and every single episode, regardless of the situation. Be it chilling at home, to interning, Olivia always looked perfectly put together and had a sense of class about her. Ever since discovering her from The City, I’ve been following her on social. A little creepy I know, but she’s stunning, her sense of style is impeccable, and did I mention that her husband is also a beautiful specimen of a male as well? Those two need to get together and produce some mini-me’s already because we’re waiting!

I Took a Piece of #NYFW Home With me Thanks to Club Monaco

On me: Top, Skirt, Coat – Club Monaco / Bag – Prada (similar here) / Shoes – Cartel Footwear (similar here)
On Aney: Turtleneck, Vest, Skirt – Club Monaco / Bag – Chloe / Shoes – Zara (similar here)

With all of the traveling that I’ve been doing lately, I found that it was best to sit out this season’s New York Fashion Week in exchange for some downtime with Kobe and my friends. One of my friends who was house and pet sitting for us while P and I were away jokingly mentioned that she’s been living in my place more this month than I have been, and although I know that it was only a joke, it really hit home (no pun intended) in regards to how little time I’ve been spending in Toronto.

3 Weddings; 3 Dresses

3 Weddings; 3 Dresses

We’re past Labour Day, which essentially means that summer is over, but that doesn’t mean that wedding season is even close to being over! It’s crazy how long wedding season lasts for (May – October), and I’ve had the pleasure of attending quite a few over this summer already that I figured, why not share some of the fantastic dresses that I’ve worn throughout the summer? Essentially 3 weddings, and 3 dresses. Hopefully to inspire you the next time that you attend a wedding.

This will be for anyone who’s already been to their fair share of weddings and have run out of ideas of what to wear, all the way to the first time wedding guest. Trust me, inspiration runs thin sometimes when all I want to wear is a cute white summer dress, but I shouldn’t be upstaging the bride.
