An #MDVPHoliday17 - Dine & Unwind

It’s been a crazy year to say the least. At least it’s that time of the year when I can finally relax a little bit with my crew. Every year close to the holidays, Peter, Mel, Dave and I take some time off and spend a weekend together exploring the city. We go out for a fun dinner, and just essentially appreciate our time together as a group – #MDVPHoliday. Last year we had a crazy fun weekend and this year’s #MDVPHoliday17 was just the same to say the least.

#GetAwayAndPlay for 24 Hours in Blue Mountain

#GetAwayAndPlay for 24 Hours in Collingwood

A couple of weekends ago, The Body Shop whisked myself and my dearest group of friends away up to Blue Mountain for a relaxing retreat to celebrate the launch of their holiday collection. Now I’ve been a long time fan of The Body Shop. Not in the sense that I discovered the brand in high school when I first started tinkering with makeup and skincare, but in the sense that I’ve literally grown up with their products, and was familiar with them even before the massive re-branding that took place within the past few years.

Having had the opportunity to work closely with the brand over the past few years, I’ve had the chance to have early access to all of their launches, but this year’s holiday collection totally beats out all of the others. If you’re still looking for the perfect gifts, stop. Head to The Body Shop now and finish up the rest of your shopping, because there is almost no physical way that you won’t find at least one thing for each person your list. But the better part about shopping from them is the phenomenal initiative that they have in place this year.

Top 10 Favourite Coffee Shops of Toronto

Top 10 Favourite Coffee Shops of Toronto

I took a little bit of a hiatus from blogging and went to Mexico over the past week. Oddly enough I didn’t drink much coffee while there, which is completely out of my character. Coming back to Toronto signified the necessity of coffee in my daily routine and I realized that although I’ve visited many different cafes across the city, I’ve never once really shared my opinions or my favourites with you – my readers. And it doesn’t help that I constantly get asked which ones are my favourite. The problem is that whenever I’m put on the spot, I can’t really come up with which ones I like the best. So why not have it all in one place that I can easily refer back to for anyone who ever wants to know?

So without further ado, here are my top 10 favourite coffee shops in Toronto – and in no particular order, I simply organized them alphabetically for easier sorting. Who knows, if I’m not too lazy, maybe I’ll start ranking my favourite cafes in relation to areas of the city as well! Because although there are only 10 here, there are definitely a lot more that I’d highly recommend that you visit!

An #MDVPHoliday Staycation

December 21, 2016

We are mere days away from Christmas, which means tons of time off with friends and family. I know that this time of the year can be quite chaotic for everyone (heck I always feel like a chicken running around with its head cut-off), so what better way to destress than to plan a little staycation in the city? Team #MDVP (Mel, Dave, Vic, and Peter) decided to go on a little staycation of our own this past weekend and wanted to share our experience with you. Literally within a weekend, here is how we enjoyed our city at its finest and played “vacay” without ever having to drive outside of the city limits.

Distillery District X Love Lock

August 23, 2014

Distillery District X Love LockTo celebrate our anniversary, P and I spent the day together and included a walk to the Distillery District so that we could attach a lock to its Love Lock art installation. We had unfortunately forgotten to purchase a lock prior to walking to the Harbour Front. But luckily for us, one of the stores there, Biltmore Domicile, had locks for sale ($10, it wasn’t cheap!) and a station where we could decorate it before locking it to the trellis.

It was a bittersweet day as it would be the last couple of hours I got to spend with P before his return to Ottawa. Until the next time either of us visit, it will be the unfortunate case of long distance.
