The last time I was in Vegas with my family we stayed at The Venetian. It was quite a few years ago, and although I was severely underaged at the time to really explore any of the clubs and casinos, I remember loving the sights. Ever since my trip many years back, I’ve always dreamed of revisiting to see the beautiful hotel and enjoy the “legal age” activities. It’s strange that when I was here last, all I wanted was to be a “grown up” and gamble like everyone else that was sitting at the tables and slots. This time around, it’s been many years since I’ve been back to Vegas and I didn’t feel that pull anymore. Gambling doesn’t feel as elusive to me as it once did (I have gambled since becoming legal), and I walked by the tables without even feeling an urge to look over to see what was going on.
Even though my trip to Vegas was for work, you simply don’t go to Sin City without taking the time to lounge, shop, explore the strip and knock back a couple of drinks. In between sorting out a chaotic booth situation on the first day (we visited to attend NMX) and getting ready for a night out at XS, we had a little bit of time to lounge by the pool and enjoy the sunshine. Luckily for us, we took full advantage of the sun on the first day, because the rest of the week was surprisingly windy and chilly. Windy to the point where the pool had to be closed.
About two weeks ago, I packed up my bags and left for Vegas. I’ll just put it out there that it was for a work trip, not pleasure, so I didn’t get the chance to explore the strip as much as I would like. But though having fun wasn’t exactly making the top of my list of priorities, we made sure to find some time to ourselves to enjoy the strip and to do some guilt-free Sin City shopping.
