I’ve spent the last couple of months making a concerted effort to integrate more colour into my life. I have to say that it’s definitely freeing! Sure, I still gravitate towards my neutrals, but it’s been really nice to be able to now pick from other colours in my closet besides just black, white, beiges, and browns. I won’t lie though and say that I’m now wearing every colour under the rainbow because I definitely am not. I’ve recently only begun to incorporate pinks, reds, and florals into my attire and I fully blame my blogger friends for it! Everytime I’m around Tee or Camilla, they’re wearing the cutest floral dresses and I’m left with serious FOMO due to my lack-of-colour of a closet. Thus, inspired to start wearing more colour and florals. Trust me, it’s a breath of fresh air.

Samsonite recently launched their Lipault Paris bags which are specifically designed to solve the problem of unsightly travel bags, that can also be used in everyday scenarios, and I became smitten by the Plume Vinyl. Completely stepping out of my comfort zone, I picked up the bag in a vibrant brick red to up the ante of my now “colourful” closet. Seriously though, I think that this is the brightest bag that I currently own, and with no regrets!

Being quite a traveler as of late (super excited to be jetting off to Portugal and Morocco at the end of this month!), I’ve been having a hard time finding bags that are conducive to being on the go. Sure I love all of the bags that I currently own, but there are definitely a slew of problems that I face with them when out and about traveling.

First, zippers! I mean come on people, why have the smallest zippers in the world where I can’t even comfortably open up the bag to reach inside for my belongings? And then secondly, the weight. When I’m already lugging around a 60lb luggage, carrying a heavy bag is the last thing that I want. The lighter the better please! Fashion please pay attention.

This tiny red patent leather bag is as light as a feather – I can literally put almost anything and everything in it and it never feels heavy. Requirement one ticked off for a travel-perfect bag. And then the zippers. Having a complete zip-around may pose as a problem to some, but for me it’s a saving grace. I love being able to fully open the bag and not struggle with my wallets and keys catching onto the sides of the zipper as I’m taking them out of my bag. And even if you aren’t traveling anytime soon, the bag shape and design perfectly doubles as a work horse bag as well. Trust me, you’ll want a light bag once you’re working professionally and carrying around your laptop and other work accessories with you everyday to and from work.

Looking ahead to our upcoming trip to Portugal and Morocco, I can definitely see myself reaching for my Lipault on the regular. When traveling I always seem to gravitate more towards colour, making the bag a perfect fit. If you’re ever on the Western Coast of Canada, make sure to pop into the first North American stand-alone location in Vancouver! You honestly have to pick up the Lipault bags for yourself to truly understand how light they are.
