Dressing yourself to spend the entire day walking around is quite an art. It’s easy enough figuring out what to wear so that you’re dressed comfortably, but add into the equation the necessity of taking photos, and you’ve put yourself into quite a situation.

We arrived in New York on quite a fortunate weekend. The weather was warm enough to explore the city without having to constantly dash in and out of places just to warm ourselves, but it was warm enough that we didn’t want to overheat while spending hours on foot either.

Pants were out of the question since it was so warm out, and shorts would just ride up with all of the walking that we had planned for ourselves. A dress was already done the day before, so the only thing left was a skirt.

I had recently received this buttoned-down denim skirt from Romwe and had yet to found the opportunity to wear it out. I wanted to wear something light and breezy that wouldn’t cling to my skin, but wasn’t overly boxy.

With so much already going on in between the gridlock and the buttons, I decided that it would only be fit to keep it light on the accessories and went with these dainty Sterling silver pieces by Free Series.

I’m in love with how thin these rings are and how they aren’t immediately noticeable until you got closer. Kind of like a little hidden secret.

Instead of going for an all silvered-out get up, I opted for a black watch to pull some of the blacks from the grid print. It was a good move since it evened out the black from my cap and made the whole outfit a little bit more cohesive.

With so much black, white, and blue going on, the bag had to be a different color. I went with a neutral tone and something a little bit smaller so that I wouldn’t be tempted to carry too many things around with me all day.

Overall the entire outfit withstood the 10 hour trek we made across the city and fully held up on the end of being comfortable yet camera worthy. Not once did I overheat or feel uncomfortable. And now that I’ve found my New York uniform, I’m ready to make another visit back to the Big Apple.
