Lace Top – Necessary Clothing // Dress – Zara // Trousers – NAKD // Boots – Ego // Bag – Chanel

Happy Monday! I’ve featured a lot of outfits with easy to wear white pieces, and wanted to highlight a different way of wearing white that most people don’t often think of – with lace. I’ve often struggled with styling this top as it came with a matching bottom and I definitely didn’t want to isolate myself to only wearing it as a singular outfit. I’m pretty sure that the two pieces were meant to be worn together as a “out on the town” sort of outfit, but considering the fact that I’m a grandma that rarely ever goes out anymore, I had to find different ways of wearing it and transforming it into more appropriate everyday pieces. Clearly breaking up the top and bottom was the only feasible option.

From the beautiful and delicate detailing of the lace, I immediately knew that I wanted to turn the top into a peekaboo situation. I am always a lover of lace and love finding new ways of incorporating it into my outfits. Similar to how I would style a lace bralette to be seen from underneath a top, I wanted to layer something else over top of the lace shirt and have it act as a base. The next struggle was a case of finding the right matching piece to wear over top of the shirt without quite downplaying the lace. Immediately I thought of my simple dress that I picked up from Zara last summer.

There is absolutely no way I could ever wear this dress without anything underneath it regardless. Considering that the top portion of it is so minimal that I might as well go naked. And probably being the only dress that I own with such a predicament, it was only fitting that both the dress and the lace top be worn together.
