A Regal Day

A Regal DayI don’t usually post photos with this much of a blur, but I just can’t get over how much movement this skirt gives. And as much as I wanted to and did recreate my own modern day Princess dress, I wanted to be able to incorporate the skirt into an everyday look. I brought down the girliness with some combat boots, granted they are heeled, but that just helps to elongate my legs from a heavily bodied skirt. And instead of resorting to an all one color monochrome look, I decided that some color-blocking would be the best decision in order to change it up from a flat color all over.

I also felt that I needed to give my new jacket another go at its reversible functionality and to try it again in another outfit just to see versatile it could be. The verdict? It was a good purchase and I can definitely see it making many more appearances on my blog even though it’s such a bold statement piece.

But even though try as I might to make this skirt more appropriate for an everyday outfit, I still felt as regal as a princess, most likely due to the embroidered gold tigers emblazoned across the jacket as opposed to the skirt itself.
