Suited Up

With all of the pink that I’ve been wearing lately, I decided that it was time for a change and to go to the dark side – completely. I’ve been meaning to give the belted blazer look a try after seeing a couple of other bloggers style it similarily, although mine wasn’t stolen from the boy. It’s actually a blazer of mine that’s slightly boxier than the rest, not one that I use for interviews. It was long enough such that when I overlapped the front, it was almost long enough to be a shirt.

Unfortunately, due to the cut of the front, it created a slight inverted V that revealed what was underneath. Luckily for me I was able to fix that and maintain my all-black vibe by pairing the blazer together with my faux-leather high-wasted trousers. But you can’t do an all black head-to-toe look without turning into your own shadow. And to prove that I wasn’t one, I accessorized the whole look with some mixed metals.

This will most likely be the first and last time you’ll ever witness me mixing 2 different metals together. I’m usually an all silver girl, but the gold just has to creep into my life every once in awhile. I don’t exactly have a similar belt with silver embelishments, so gold had to do. However, because the hardware was so dispersed from the sunglasses, to the belt and to the shoes, it worked out well in my favor. Neither of the pieces were close enough for the colors to clash. Now if only I could wear a suit like this to all of my interviews.
