To All Things Girly

To All Things GirlyA fair warning before questions start being thrown everywhere. I was very cold in this picture. Let me rephrase that: I was ridiculously cold and I might have even begun my allergic reaction had I decided to prolong the shoot.

In the midst of scouting for new shoot locations, my girlfriend and I decided that it would be a smart idea to venture onto a windy rooftop in the middle of -20 degree temperature. I absolutely loved the outcome of the photos, but also absolutely regretted every moment of it (only while it happened). But I digress, let’s move back to the outfit.

This furry monster doesn’t get the love that it deserves. If I could, I’d wear it every single day, but I can’t seem to fathom enough different looks to put togther with it. Or it could just be that all of the outfits that I have in mind wouldn’t permit me to survive this weather. Regardless of the fact, I decided to pull it out and give it another spin. But like I said, I haven’t seem to come up with many different combos so again I go back to the pinks. A light blush pink definitely seems to be my go-to color of choice, and when I can’t put together something that looks decent in the morning, I default to pieces in the same family color.

It might just be because pink is such an easier color (especially in this shade) to fall back on, that when I take a step back and look at my closet, almost 50% of it constitutes of pink variants. But I’m not really a girly-girl at heart, so I’ve always got to find a way to tone down the femininity a notch. My trusty black trousers? Check. Some comfy Chelsea boots to make the entire ensemble very J. Crew-esque from the waist down? Check. Except now I kind of look like a lumberjack, so midi rings are a must to tie the entire look together.
