With all of the traveling that I’ve been doing lately, I found that it was best to sit out this season’s New York Fashion Week in exchange for some downtime with Kobe and my friends. One of my friends who was house and pet sitting for us while P and I were away jokingly mentioned that she’s been living in my place more this month than I have been, and although I know that it was only a joke, it really hit home (no pun intended) in regards to how little time I’ve been spending in Toronto.

That being said, it doesn’t mean that I couldn’t experience a bit of #NYFW myself! Being part of the digital age means that you’re always immersed in the lifestyle regardless of how far you may be from the actual experience. After sharing our love for Club Monaco’s heritage collection a few months ago, Aney and I decided to partner with the brand again to highlight our picks from their #CMNYFW Fall 2017 collection.

Aney (check out her post here), ever the lover of pinks, chose the most beautiful skirt. I had my eye on that one as soon as I saw it too, but wanted to avoid twinning and opted for a beautifully structured tweed skirt perfect for fall’s latest trend – tweed/herringbone prints. In preparation for the cooler temperatures to come in the next few weeks, I threw over top of my outfit a beautiful double-breasted camel coat. Although I’m going to be trying hard to not wear the coat fully-over but draped over my shoulders as long as I can tolerate the cold just to show off the adorable ruffles of my top.

The Fall 2017 collection is full of 80’s inspired silhouettes ranging from swingy skirts, texture play, to refreshed tweed. And although we both work in quite different office settings, the different pieces managed to transition between a safe and corporate style, to a trendier look.

There’s a lot more to this collection than what you see is currently wearing (and I totally have my eye on some pieces), which I believe is already available online or in their Toronto flagship location on Bloor Street. If you do end up picking up some pieces yourself, let me know in the comments! I’d love to see your selections!
