12 Days of Giveaways 2019

12 Days of Giveaways 2019

Holy smokes, we’re already less than 50 days away from Christmas and we just experienced our first snowfall in Toronto this week! I’m super excited to be launching this year’s annual 12 Days of Giveaways with you guys again and there are some amazing partners on board this time!

If this is your first time here to the blog, or your first time stumbling onto my annual holiday giveaway, you’re in for a treat. Each and every single year, I partner with some of my favourite brands to give back to my community and to thank you guys for all of the amazing support that you’ve given me this past year. It truly goes without saying that I wouldn’t be able to do what I do without each and every single person who reads my posts, leaves me lovely comments, and sends me the most heartfelt emails. So thank you a million times over! And although I would love to be able to send everyone a gift, that isn’t exactly the most feasible thing to do, so hopefully 12 lucky individuals will get to enjoy a little something special from my favourite brands right on time for the holidays!

The rules as always are very simple (please read below), with only 2 new additions to the requirements for this year. A new giveaway revealed each morning at 8:00 AM EST, and the winner from the previous date will also be revealed at the same time as well. Remember to come back daily for a new chance to win and I wish you all the best of luck!

12 Days of Giveaways 2019

NEOSTRATA
Retinol 0.3% Overnight Peel
Bionic Lotion
Comprehensive Retinol Eye Cream

I was recently introduced to Neostrata within the past few months and have experimented with retinol by introducing their overnight peel into my weekly nightly routine. No joke, the overnight peel has truly improved the overall texture of my skin such that I wake up in the morning feeling like I’m a newly reborn child. In all seriousness though, I was really excited to include this product in my skincare routine and so overjoyed that Neostrata also chose to include some other goodies in it as well.

Q: Tell me one thing that you’re proud of accomplishing this year, and what you’re hoping to accomplish next year.

Additional Requirement: Please make sure to follow Neostrata on Instagram at @neostratacanada

12 Days of Giveaways 2019

MIRAJ HAMMAM SPA by CAUDALIE

I don’t know about you, but towards the end of the year I always like to treat myself to a little spa session. Whether it’s a full body massage, a nice eucalyptus infused sauna, or even just a facial, there’s always something that I do towards the end of the year to give my body a little thanks for doing all that it does for me throughout the year. I know, I know, it’s important for me time throughout the year too, but I can just never find the time, or justify the cost of doing it all throughout the year.

Thankfully the Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie has been kind enough to provide me with a $150 to share with one of you to also get set up for an end of year body-care session. Whether you want to spend this gift card on yourself, or share it wit someone else for the holidays, that’s totally up to you! But the one thing that I would definitely recommend would be to get a full body massage, or to get one of their signature Hammam and Gommage’s—trust me, it’s an experience that you won’t want to miss out on!

Q: How often do you give yourself some extra TLC? Do you make time for it throughout the year, do you do it towards the end of the year, or do you not even bother at all?

Additional Requirement: Please make sure to follow Miraj Hammam Spa by Caudalie on Instagram at @mirajcaudalieto

SKINCEUTICALS
Phloretin CF
Discoloration Defense
Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50

I was only just introduced to SkinCeuticals this past year, but it’s a brand that I very quickly fell in love with. Not only do they create products that work, but their products work quickly. The only downside is that they aren’t sold in mass retailers, making it difficult to get ahold of, but all which is completely fair since their potency levels of each product are well beyond what is typically sold in stores.

This year, for the first time ever, I’m excited to include SkinCeuticals as a partner for my #12DaysofGiveaway so that one of you will have the opportunity to give this mind blowingly amazing skincare brand a go! Best of luck 🙂

Q: Do you deal with adult acne like me? And if so, at what age did you begin to experience it, and what have you done so far that has helped?

Additional Requirement: Please make sure to follow SkinCeuticals on Instagram at @skinceuticalsca

Winner: Gracie

IT COSMETICS
IT’s Your IT Girl Super Squad!
Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+

I’ve been using It Cosmetics’ CC cream for the past year or so and have loved the texture and consistency of it. I’m not someone who enjoys a full coverage foundation, and this one is a medium-full range that also has extremely moisturizing properties, so even when you’re in full glam, you’ll never feel like your skin is dry or tight. This is extra-important during the winter months as the air is already as dry as can be, so additional factors that aggravate the dryness is not something that you want in your life.

But besides the foundation, the team has also generously included a gift set of some of their best selling skincare products so that you can try out the entire range for yourself! Best of luck to anyone that enters!

Q: Is there anything related to skincare and beauty that you’d like to see more of on my platforms? And if so, what topics specifically and which platforms?

Additional Requirement: Please make sure to follow It Cosmetics on Instagram at @itcosmeticsca

Winner: Suzanne Giroux

BIOSSANCE
Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil
Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream
Rose Vegan Lip Balm

I was introduced to Biossance earlier last year and have been obsessed with their face oil! Not only is it ultra nourishing, but it also doesn’t leave behind a ridiculously oily residue which I love. I know that most people tend to stray away from face oils due to the fear of it causing them to break out, but did you know that if your skin is more moisturized, the chances of it breaking out decreases? As someone who has combined skin type, I guarantee you that the oil does not break me out in any way, but actually helps to reduce my acne flare ups!

Q: Is there anything related to skincare and beauty that you’d like to see more of on my platforms? And if so, what topics specifically and which platforms?

Additional Requirement: Please make sure to follow Biossance on Instagram at @biossance

I can’t wait for someone to win this massive care package for both regular and curly hair. Keep it for yourself, or share it with a friend!

12 Days of Giveaways 2019

CERAVE
Foaming Facial Cleanser
Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion
Eye Repair Cream
Moisturizing Cream
Hydrating Cleanser

Little known fact about me: I’m allergic to the cold. Many years ago I began breaking out in rashes and hives in the winter, and try as I might, nothing that I tried helped until I started using CeraVe’s Moisturizing Cream. And ever since then, I haven’t looked back. Besides using it just for winter, I always slather myself from head-to-toe every single time I step out of the shower and it has seriously changed the quality of my skin. Ashy and dry skin isn’t cute, so it’s especially imperative to my winter bodycare routine, and I want you guys to be able to try it out for yourself!

Q: Do you deal with any skin problems? And if so, which ones? Besides having cold urticaria, I also have a bit of eczema and CeraVe has done an amazing job at keeping the itchiness to a minimum!

Additional Requirement: Please make sure to follow CeraVe on Instagram at @cerave_canada

ESSIE
Gel Couture

Ain’t nobody got time for slow-drying and chipped nails. Enter essie’s Gel Couture line! Kinda like shellac, but not, these polishes last me for weeks and apply like a breeze! This line from essie has got to be my all-time favourite go-to drug store polish that I can always rely on for a quick fix when I want my nails to last, but don’t want to wait hours for them to dry. With a variety of shades under the rainbow, you’re bound to find a shade that’s perfect for the holidays!

Q: Do you Black Friday shop? And if so, what’s on the top of your shopping list this year?

Additional Requirement: Please make sure to follow essie on Instagram at @essie

VICHY
Quenching Mineral Mask
Pore Purifying Clay Mask
Soothing Aloe Vera Clay Mask
Double Glow Peel Mask
Clay & Charcoal Mask

As the weather changes, so should your skincare. You guys already know that I absolutely love masking, so for this holiday season, I also want to share my love of masking with you! Whether you’re looking to add hydration or to pull out impurities, Vichy has a mask for you. Plus these would look so cute stacked together on your vanity, the colours all coordinate so well!

Q: Do you ever change up your skincare in the winter time? And if so, what do you do that’s different?

Additional Requirement: Please make sure to follow Vichy on Instagram at @vichycanada

OLANG
Glamour Boots

Living in Canada, it’s essential to have a solid pair of winter boots. I’ve been wearing my Italian Olang Sound (not pictured) for the last 3 winters straight and they’ve always done a phenomenal job at keeping my toes warm, my feet dry and snuggly. And being someone who’s ridiculously clumsy and prone to slipping, I’m obsessed with their ice cleats! These boots have saved me time over time and I can’t wait for one of you guys to experience them for yourself just to see how amazing they are!

This year I’ll be breaking out a brand new pair—these are the tall Glamour boots—for my upcoming trip to Copenhagen, and one of you will also get the chance to win a pair of boots from Olang as well! Final style and colour will depend on availability of the sizing, so you do have the flexibility of choosing a different style for yourself!

Q: Does it snow where you live? And if not, where are you from and have you ever gone somewhere snowy for the holidays?

Additional Requirement: Please make sure to follow Olang on Instagram at @olang_canada

Day 1: I haven’t started yet! Just moved to a new place this year so I haven’t really thought of how I should decorate, so it might be later on into Novemeber when I start!

Day 9 – I still struggle with adult acne. Got my first pimple in elementary school and I remember being asked what the red dot on my face was. I used to try to slather on layers of foundation to try to hide but it obviously made it worse! I have since started taking better care of my skin – double cleansing, lighter coverage makeup and lots of salycic acid and pimple patches!

Day 5: few years ago I was at a very stressful job, and I kept breaking out in hives, rashes, little series of bumps on my fingers and hands that were super itchy and (sorry, gross) ooze if I scratched too hard. At the time I had no idea stress could physically manifest like that on skin. As soon as I quit that job, ALL my skin troubles vanished! …but I discovered that I would experience flare-ups when I get stressed out. I know what you mean by oily hair! It took my awhile to train my hair, but I can on go about 4-5 days without washing it and it still looks pretty decent! Keep an eye out for some posts on my Instagram in the coming week for some fun hair styles!

I would highly recommend looking into some hair masks and only applying them to the ends of your hair before shampooing to help restore the moisture in them 🙂

    November 13th Day 6 giveaway

I have very naturally curly hair! It is thin but frizzy and looks voluminous. A lot of people are surprised at how thin it is for how big it looks. I am concerned with breakage. Because it’s curly, it gets tangly and rips if I even run my fingers through it just to tie it up so sad! I wanna see you style you hair more naturally, on the go for days when you don’t have time to do it (ie simple accessories or tricks for what to do after leaving the house with wet hair)

I won’t lie, I’m extremely jealous that you have so much volume and curl to your hair! I have such straight and flat hair that it’s the total opposite and almost never holds a style! I do get a lot of tangles though because my hair has been colour treated and I have found that hair oils really help to detangle and to keep my hair sleek when its dry. Won’t lie, I’m definitely the girl that leaves the house with wet hair often so I think that would be such a fun piece of content to put together to share how to style wet hair!

Surprisingly I never broke out as a teen, but when I hit 20/21, I instantly started breaking out everywhere! I’ve been told that it’s adult acne and it happens to quite a few people but no one ever really tells you about it when you’re younger! I was shocked because I thought you would only get acne during puberty and that it would go away once you’re over with that phase in your life, but it seems that I’ll be stuck with acne for life now! I’ve shared a lot of my skincare routine on Instagram and YouTube and have a beauty playlist that kind of groups them together, those would probably be the best places to refer back to my current skincare routines!

Hand creams wise, some of my favourite ones are from L’Occitane and The Body Shop’s hemp hand cream!

Day 9: I’ve suffered acne since I was a teen (around 12?), leaving lots of scars since I honestly didn’t know how to take care of my skin back then. Now I’m 30 and although my ance is not as bad, it still pops up every now and then. It’s usually around my chin, cheeks and my back. I’ve tried many over the counter ance cream and even Proactive but all they did was dried out my skin. I find just washing my face and a simple moisturizer and no make up worked the best. I dunno if it helped heal my ance faster but at least it doesn’t aggravate them. Still trying to find things to reduce my ance scars though!

Day 9: Wow Skinceuticals!! I don’t have adult acne but I like to think I keep it away with Retinol, which btw, I use Skinceuticals Retinol 1.0. I started with the 0.25 last year then used the 0.5. Now I use 1.0 about 3x a week. It’s super expensive but lasts a long time. I get mine at the local dermatologists, even though I am not his patient, anyone can walk in and buy the products they have. I would LOVE LOVE to try their SPF.

Day 11 – Definitely online during holiday season because it gets too crowded and crazy as the days get closer to Christmas. For a one stop shop, I would say Winners.

Day 11 I love both! Started already and had a blast shopping with my daughter in stores. I always find great deals on line, too. I did love the Bay!

  156. November 18, 2019 / 12:23 pm

Day 11: shopping online all the way for me! I usually will try things on in store but make the actual purchase online, it’s just so much more convenient! My go to for all gifts is probably the Body Shop or Sephora because everyone needs skincare haha

Day 11: If I’m shopping for myself I’d like to shop in store, so I can try on the items, but if I’m shopping for my friends or family I’d prefer shopping online! It’s more convenient and I get to avoid the crowds. My favourite place to go buy all my gifts is Shoppers Drug Mart, they have all these cute gift sets during the holidays!

Day 11: I prefer to shop online for Christmas but there’s no one store I can do everything. I like Toys R US.ca for my niece and nephew and Sephora or Shoppers Drug Mart when shopping for my sisters!

Day 11 – I prefer online shopping rather than going to the mall during the holidays – as much as I love the Christmas music and the window displays, I don’t like crowds! My favourite place to shop for gifts is Amazon (obviously!) – it has something for everyone!

Day 11: I like to do a balance of both but online is more convenient. My favourite is Hudson Bay, Amazon or Indigo!

Day 11: I personally prefer shopping in stores but if I for sure know my size I’ll shop online using Rakuten for some extra cash back! I don’t have a one-stop shop for everyone..I definitely always check out different shops for different people.

Day 4: yes! I usually gather a list of things I want throughout the year and wait for Black Friday if I don’t need it right away! I was waiting for The Ordinary items but their sale is all month long. I also have some clothings items I’m eyeing.

Q: Is there anything related to skincare and beauty that you’d like to see more of on my platforms? And if so, what topics specifically and which platforms?

Day 7: yes!! I’d love to know what works for you for anti-aging. And how steps do you have in your daily routine?Your skin looks so plump and nice always! And on Instagram!

    Day 9:
Thankfully I don’t have adult acne. I do experience stress and hormonal breakouts on my forehead. Sometimes I have under the skin painful ones near my nose/upper lip. I don’t do much about my forehead except ensure I’m cleaning my face well, glam glow youthmud has help me before. The ones by my nose, I use tea tree oil or the Mario badescu spot treatment! It makes it less painful.

    November 19, 2019 / 12:01 am

Day 11: I like to shop in person because I want to see the clothing physically or test the lipstick shades. However, if there’s an online sale or cash back perk with Rakuten then I would opt to shop online! I don’t have a go to place cause I’m always shopping around for best quality and value!

Day 12- It may not sound like much but this year I managed to find myself again. After years of being a wife and mother, I had let my own identity get lost somewhere along the way. In the past few months, I have rediscovered what makes me truly happy(aside from my family) and learned that I have to put myself first some of the time. Next year I plan to do some home renovations and hopefully squeeze in a trip to Ireland/Scotland because it’s somewhere I’ve always wanted to visit.

    Day 10 / Nov. 19, 2019

I try to give myself some extra TLC (spa visit, trip) a couple times a year or when I’ve worked really hard and can afford it. I think it’s super important to recharge and try and carve out the time or occasion for it. I also like to give the gift of TLC to others (for birthday presents, etc.)

Day 12: Wow, I feel like I haven’t really accomplished much this year because it’s just school and work on repeat but I did go back to my parents’ home country for the first time in 10 years to visit my grandma so that was pretty special to me. Next year I’m looking forward to finally, FINALLY graduating from uni!!

Day 12 – One thing I’m really proud of accomplishing this year is being intentional with growing my friendships and making time to be there for my friends, especially since a number of them experienced bad breakups. Next year, I hope to grow the confidence I need to negotiate my salary. Been working my butt off but I know sometimes you just need to ask to communicate what you want…wish my luck!!
