Goodbye Pink, Hello Yellow!

This is probably the first fashion dedicated post that I’ve written in awhile and I really do miss it. I can tell by just how quickly I put the copy for this together since I typically struggle when it comes to the writing component of a blog post. I’ve literally been forming this post in my end over the past few days and haven’t been able to get it off of my mind so here it is in all of its glory. Bask in it, I might just start writing more fashion related content again 😉 A change up is quite nice every once in awhile! But I digress, let’s get straight into today’s topic.

Move over millenial pink, and forget about Pantone colour of the year. There’s a new colour in town and she’s about to take over your wardrobe—YELLOW! Yes, you heard me right, yellow is the colour trend of the season, summer, year? However long it’ll endure, I’m sure you may have noticed it taking over all of the stores and millenial pink fading out. The great thing about the new yellow trend that differs from our obsession with millenial pink is that it is readily available in a variety of different tones and shades. You can either go vibrant and bright with a luminous canary yellow, or moody and neutral with a rusty mustard shade.

Before it had even consciously registered into my mind, yellow had already slowly begun its takeover in my closet. In hindsight, after looking back at all of my recent purchases and outfits that I’ve shot, I’ve definitely committed to this yellow craze and I’m not even mad about it. From yellow florals, yellow gingham, to all out solid yellow shoes, I’ve unconsciously committed to this new colour craze. That’s not to say that you need to overhaul your entire closet and completely toss out your pinks just yet. Because let’s face it, we all know that fashion is cyclical and pink will probably come around again in the next 20 years or so. Who am I kidding, you and I are not going to wait around for pink to come back just to wear our pink attire again. Luckily for us, pink and yellow can go hand-in-hand for a beautiful pastel colour palette. Perfectly for all of us that love a vibrant outfit on a day-to-day.

But let’s be clear, pink isn’t completely overruled yet. Sure it may be on it’s way out, but don’t totally throw your millenial pink clothes away just yet. Ease into the yellow and slowly fade out your pink. Make your money’s worth by giving those pink pieces one last year! However if you’re down for the yellow, here are some cute pieces that I’ve been seriously coveting over these past few weeks!
