It’s been awhile since I’ve made one of my “ingenious” clothing hacks where I create a new purpose for what my clothes were originally intended for. A couple of weeks ago, I stumbled across a beautiful white/cream jumper and instantly developped my so-called “lust” for it.

Trying to curb my spending, I refrained from the impulsive purchase and decided to repurpose some clothes. Who needs to spend money buying new ones when you can have some fun making them on your own?

One of the main hurdles that I considered, was finding two different pieces that would match both in terms of color and texture. I wanted my homemade jumper to be as cohesive as possible so that any person on the street would immediately come to the conclusion that it was one without any suspicion of otherwise.

Luckily for me, I remembered that I had actually purchased some clothes last year that fell perfectly within my needs. I’m going to take this hindsight as a realization that clearly my shopping skills are something that needs to be immortalized by having a place on my resume.

Once I located the two pieces that I wanted to combine, the next struggle was making it appear as if I was wearing a jumper and not just tucking a top into some high-waisted pants. My top is actually quite a long tunic that goes way past my butt, and I was concerned that it would bunch up unseemingly inside of the dropped crotch of the pants. Fortunately to me, the lightweighted material folded nicely and didn’t create any oddly shaped bulges.

I wanted my new-founder romper to speak for itself and to not have its thunder stolen away by anything else that I paired it together with, so naturally an entirely monochromatic look was the only appropriate choice.

The look that I was going for was along the lines of a “Roman pillar”-esque, and I think that my nude heels were the perfect complement to the whole outfit (just kidding, it wasn’t actually what I had envisioned for myself). Keeping the rest of it simple, I slipped on a thin pink and gold bangle (gotta keep within that pastel pink palette y’know?) and decided that that was it.
