Wrapped in Nude

I’m a huge sucker for reality television – the idea that it’s unscripted (even though I know that it’s not) just appeals to me. To know that the characters on the show are revealing their true emotions without any pre-emptive planning is kind of addicting. It’s like getting a glimpse into someone’s private life.

You can probably guess by this post that I’m kind of an avid watcher of the KUWTK franchise. I keep every episode on in the background when I’m blogging/cleaning/cooking just to fill the air with some noise, but nothing too serious that I’d end up diverting my attention back to the show and away from my task.

But even though I love the show (I mean come on, how fun is it to vicariously live through the Kardashians and the Jenners?), I’ve never been much of a fan of the family outside of it.

I don’t follow any of the girls on social media, nor do I know much about their ongoing life outside of what I see from the show. Unless I catch some office gossip and saucy secrets that never make it past the cutting board.

So even though the entire family has a myriad of collaborations with different brands, I was never intrigued enough to truly go out and track down any of the products. So when I attended the launch even for Kendall & Kylie’s Ever New collaboration, it came to me as a surprise how solidly designed and constructed their collection was.

I half expected recycled designs from whatever was trending, made in the cheapest of possibly fabrics. Boy was I wrong. The cuts were innovative, and the silhouettes (though traditional) were flattering. I quickly gravitated towards many different pieces but stepped back a little bit in sticker shock. This collection was definitely not for the faint of heart in the financial department.

I took a couple of minutes to evaluate my options before settling on this interesting front-tied bandeau and walking out proud of my purchase. There was a matching pair of black trousers, but instead of going for a pre-styled look, I wanted the opportunity to create something entirely of my own.  And would you know it, I landed with a monochromatic outfit of nude.

I was surprised to find that I owned so many nude pieces since I mostly wear black, white, and grey the majority of the time. Maybe colour really is slowly making its way back into my closet.
