Visiting Kit & Ace

Ever the avid supporter of Canadian brands, I’ve always had an eye out for the beloved West Coast powerhouse Kit and Ace. Being a proponent for comfortable fashion, the idea of technical designs that keep up with your everyday life is a huge draw for me. I love the idea that fashion should fit into every facet of your life and that you shouldn’t necessarily need to categorize all of your clothing for different purposes of your life. Why shouldn’t you be able to wear your work outfit to a lounge with your friends? Technically there’s no steadfast rule that says so, but we don’t commonly mix our work and play clothes (unless your work is considered as the play of others’).

Ever since moving into the West end of downtown Toronto, I’ve been using my weekends to roam the neighbourhood to see what it has to offer. Not that I wouldn’t anyways (I have an unhealthy obsession with brunching on this side of the city regardless of where I live). I recently stumbled into the Kit and Ace located on Queen West and was instantly drawn into their soft-beyond-belief material. Yes, I was the one touching each and every piece of clothing, no I wasn’t eating anything so you won’t have to worry about stains if you bought something that day. 😉

I was surprised to find that the jacket that caught my eye was completely constructed out of French terry. Yep, the same material that your childhood bathrobe was probably made out of. But this isn’t the scratchy kind. Why didn’t they have this kind of terry around back when I was younger? It would have felt a lot nicer on my skin than the rough dish scrub I used to wear.

I was drawn to its slightly oversized silhouette that complements well with layering as well as the large lapels that acted as a pseudo scarf. I’m also in love with The silk piping along the edges that adds a nice touch of detailing to the jacket.

Hi Diana, It’s my favourite bag de jour at the moment! It’s funny how many useless things I used to carry when I used a tote until I downsized to a smaller purse.
